Unlock every ending in Revenge of the Savage Planet with our detailed guide. Dive into the game’s secrets and maximize your adventure today!
The hunt for all the narrative threads that Revenge of the Savage Planet has to offer. It's definitely more than just blasting alien creatures; the game weaves in some intriguing storylines and quirky resolutions. Let's break down the three confirmed endings and the paths you need to take to unlock them.
Unlocking All Endings in Revenge of the Savage Planet
As you noted, there are currently three distinct endings to discover in Revenge of the Savage Planet, each tied to specific questlines and objectives.
1) Mecha Slappi and the Main Storyline Ending
This is the central narrative path of the game, culminating in a rather bizarre encounter with Mecha Slappi. Don't let the "standard" label fool you; it requires some dedicated exploration and puzzle-solving. This ending is tied to the
Interstellar Enigma questline.
- Step 1: Complete all five Shrines: Scattered across the various planets are five hidden shrines. You'll need to locate each one and successfully complete its unique trial to earn a piece of the Pentaforce artifact. There are no shortcuts here – you must conquer each challenge. Once you've collected all five Pentaforce pieces, return to your base.
- Step 2: Unlock Slappi’s Den of Fun: With the assembled Pentaforce artifact and the necessary research completed on your hub computer, a new destination will unlock: Slappi’s Den of Fun. This mysterious fifth world is as unsettling and strange as its name suggests.
- Step 3: Ride the Rail, then wreck the bot: Your journey into the Den of Fun begins with a surreal rail ride through a twisted robot theme park. During this ride, Mecha Slappi will deliver his villainous monologue. To progress, you'll need to shoot specific purple terminals along the track.
- Step 4: Mecha Slappi boss fight: The final encounter with Mecha Slappi is a multi-phase battle requiring you to adapt to his different shield types:
- Blue shield: Use your Magnetic Fork to grab and hurl metal debris at him.
- Green shield: Toss a Blight Bomb his way.
- Orange shield: Deploy a Bombegranate.
Once his shields are down, focus your charged pistol shots on his vulnerable laser and missile turrets. Be wary of his pulse rocket, which can temporarily disable your abilities, and his rapid laser barrages that can quickly deplete your health. As his health dwindles, he'll summon additional enemies, so maintain mobility and stay aggressive. - Ending scene: After defeating Mecha Slappi, you'll be treated to a cutscene showing his dramatic meltdown and the original, tiny Slappi being reset. You'll also unlock the 'Entertained... To Death' achievement and gain the option to purchase a Slappi toy from your hub later on. This concludes the main storyline and provides the first of the game's endings.
2) Return to Earth Ending
This is a more optional, side-track ending that you can actually achieve before even confronting Mecha Slappi. It's the culmination of the Roundtrip 2.0 questline, which focuses entirely on repairing your crashed Javelin ship and making it spaceworthy again.
- Step 1: Find the crashed Javelin: Head to Nu Florida on Stellaris Prime. South of your base, you'll discover your original Javelin shippartially submerged in the swamp. Your AI companion, Eko, will informyou that it's salvageable.
- Step 2: Get the Magnetic Fork: To lift the sunken ship, you'll need the Magnetic Fork. You can acquire this tool on Xephyr by completing the 'May the Fork Be With You' quest. This quest requires you to first obtain the Goo Ingestor to enter a specific cavern and then defeat the formidable Wormzilla to claim the Magnetic Fork. Once you have it, return to the swamp on Nu Florida and use it to liftthe Javelin out of the water in a rather Jedi-esque fashion.
- Step 3: Clean up time: With the Javelin raised, you'll need to perform several maintenance tasks to make it space-ready:
- Use the Spritzer Power Hose to blast away any lingering goo.
- Infuse the Goo Ingestor with lava from Lava Dispensers (found in Slarragon Forest and Cliffs of Abaddoon) to effectively burn away any cobwebs obstructing the ship.
- Deploy Blight Bombs to destroy stubborn amber sacs. You'll unlock the ability to craft Blight Bombs after capturing and researching an Alpha Sluggator on Quasadron IX.
- Step 4: Scan and Upgrade: Three additional crashed Javelins are scattered across Xephyr, Zenithian Rift, and Quasadron IX. Locate these crashed ships, scan all their interactable parts, and complete the associated upgrade research in your base.
Once all the cleanup tasks and scans are finished, you'll be able to launch the repaired Javelin, unlocking the 'Hasta La Vista' achievement and triggering this unique ending.
- The Twist ending: Upon your return to Earth, your character is informed that their heroic efforts have earned them... a janitor job. This is a classic example of the game's quirky humor and serves as a distinct, albeit comedic, conclusion to a significant side quest arc.
3) Best Served Cold (Martin Tweed's Revenge) Ending
This ending delves into the corporate intrigue hinted at throughout the game and offers a more layered and perhaps "true" resolution to a specificcharacter's storyline.
By diligently pursuing these different questlines and completing theirunique objectives, you'll be able to experience all three of thecurrently known endings in Revenge of the Savage Planet, uncovering thefull scope of its strange and engaging narrative. Happy exploring andgood luck with your intergalactic endeavors!
