Discover essential tips and tricks for repairing the Javelin in Revenge of the Savage Planet. Master your gameplay and conquer challenges!
To get that old Javelin of yours back in working order in Revenge of the Savage Planet. It's a significant undertaking, but essential if you're after those extra endings and a sense of thorough completion. Let's break down the entire process of the Roundtrip 2.0 mission step by step.
Revenge of the Savage Planet: How to repair the Javelin
Here's a comprehensive guide to getting your crashed ship space-worthy again:
1. Pull the Ship Out of the Lake:
- After you've progressed through the main story objectives, make your way back to the Javelin's crash site in the swamp in Nu Florida on Stellaris Prime.
- You'll now be able to utilize the Magnetic Fork, which you acquire on the planet Xephyr during the "May the Fork Be With You" quest, to lift the Javelin out of the murky depths. This is the crucial first step in the long repair process.
2. Clean Off the Ship:
Once the Javelin is out of the water, it's covered in various alien gunk that needs to be dealt with before any repairs can commence.
- 1) Wash off the Goo: Equip your water hose and thoroughly clean off all the green goo that's coating the ship. Important: Make sure you remain on Stellaris Prime during this cleaning process. Using the teleporter at any point will unfortunately reset your goo cleaning progress back to zero, so be patient and thorough.
- 2) Break the Amber: The ship also has stubborn amber growths attached to it. To get rid of these, you'll need Blight Bombs, which you can obtain on Quasadron IX. Good locations to find Blight Bombs are near the teleporters at the Crash Site and Savannah Lake on that planet. Use the Blight Bombs to destroy all the amber sacs on the Javelin.
- 3) Burn off the Webs: Finally, the ship is likely covered in alien webs. To remove these, you'll need to find a Lava Extractor on Stellaris Prime. These are specifically located around the Slarragon Forest and the Cliffs of Abaddoon. Use the Lava Extractor to burn away all the webs clinging to the Javelin. Again, be careful not to teleport away from Stellaris Prime during this process, as it will reset your web-burning progress.
3. Find and Scan the Crashed Javelins:
To actually repair the Javelin, you'll need to 3D print new parts. Theblueprints for these parts are unlocked by finding and scanning threeother crashed Javelins scattered across the different planets:
- Xephyr (Antenna): Travel to the north-west part of the Xephyr map. You'll find the crashed Javelin surrounded by distinctive Coupon Crates. Scan the Javelin itself, then climb to the top of it and scan the Antenna.
- Zenithian Rift (RCS Thruster): Teleport to the Summit of Ruin on Zenithian Rift. From the teleporter, follow the north path down the icy slope. When the path splits, take the left fork. At the end of this path, you'll find the crashed Javelin.Alternatively, you can use the outer rails to navigate to it. Scan the RCS Thruster located at the back of the crashed ship.
- Quasadron IX (Radiator): On Quasadron IX, look for a distinctive Baobab Maw tree and a small inlet just south of the main teleporter. Head to Savannah Lake and dive into the main lake. Swim north and descend to the very bottom. You'll find the crashed Javelin submerged there. Scan the Radiator and then return to your base.
4. All Upgrades, Costs, and Achievements:
Once you've scanned the three crashed Javelins, new upgrades will becomeavailable in your base's 3D Printer, in addition to the two defaultupgrades. Here's a list of all the Javelin upgrades and their resourcecosts:
Upgrade | Cost |
Antenna | 1,200 Aluminum / 1,500 Carbon / 400 Silicon |
Air Freshener | 1,600 Aluminum / 1,400 Carbon / 700 Silicon |
RCS Thrusters | 800 Aluminum / 1,300 Carbon / 800 Silicon |
Radiator | 1,100 Aluminum / 1,200 Carbon / 600 Silicon |
Ultra Hi-Fi Surround System | 1,800 Aluminum / 1,100 Carbon / 600 Silicon |
Before heading to the 3D Printer, make sure you've diligently stocked up onthe necessary materials by exploring and collecting resources across the planets. Once you have enough resources, fabricate all five upgrades.
Finally, interact with the Javelin at the crash site to install all the newly printed parts onto the ship. Once all the parts are installed, enter the ship.
This action will complete the Roundtrip 2.0 mission and unlock the "Hasta la Vista" achievement, signifying that you've successfully repaired the Javelin and(presumably) returned to Earth, albeit with a humorous twist ending.
Furthermore, if you have also completed the "Best Served Cold" questline before entering the repaired Javelin, you will unlock the "Revenge is Best Served via the Internet" achievement simultaneously, rewarding you for uncovering the corporate conspiracy against Martin Tweed.
Repairing the Javelin is a significant time investment and requires thoroughexploration and resource gathering, but it's a key step towardsexperiencing all the narrative layers and endings that Revenge of theSavage Planet has to offer. Good luck with the repairs!
