In PEAK's "MESA" update, the unforgiving desert biome is home to a new, terrifying foe: the Antlion. This deceptive predator, disguised as a harmless loot box at the bottom of a sand pit, is a brutal force that can quickly end a run. However, for those brave enough to face it, a special reward awaits: the Megaentomology Badge and a unique face scar cosmetic.This guide will walk you through the precise steps to not only survive the Antlion's attack but to earn this prestigious badge.

How to Get the Megaentomology Badge

The Megaentomology Badge is awarded for surviving an Antlion attack, but you must first seek out this specific encounter in the MESA biome.

• Locate the Antlion: As you traverse the MESA desert, keep an eye out for large, bowl-shaped pits in the sand. At the center of these pits, you will often find a piece of luggage.
• Trigger the Attack: Approach the luggage in the center of the pit. This will trigger the Antlion, which will burst from the ground and attempt to drag you into a deadly vortex of shifting sand.
• Take Damage and Escape: The key to earning the badge is not to avoid the attack entirely, but to survive it. You must intentionally take a small amount of damage from the Antlion. After you take a hit, immediately use your energy to climb out of the pit.
• Use Your Resources: This is where a little preparation goes a long way. Before you enter the pit, consume an Energy drink or a Lollipop to boost your energy, making it easier to escape the Antlion's pull.
• Co-op Strategy: If you are playing with a friend, the process is even easier. One player can stand by the edge of the pit while the other triggers the attack. Once the Antlion bites, the other player can extend a hand to pull you out of the pit to safety, guaranteeing your survival.
• Avoid Cacti: The MESA biome is filled with deadly cacti. Getting stuck on a cactus will deal damage and make it much harder to escape the Antlion. You can ask a friend to remove the spines for you to reduce the damage and make your escape easier.

Once you successfully escape the Antlion's pit after taking damage, you will immediately unlock the Megaentomology Badge.

The Reward for Your Bravery

After completing your run, you will be rewarded with a unique cosmetic itemfor your daring feat. The Megaentomology Badge unlocks a new face scar customization option. This facial scar is a badge of honor, proudlyshowcasing your courage in facing one of the MESA's most dangerouscreatures and living to tell the tale.
