Monster Hunter Wilds features dynamic monster encounters influenced by time and weather, but some players may prefer a solitary hunting experience.1 This guide outlines the procedure for switching to single-player mode without disconnecting from online services.

Play Monster Hunter Wilds Solo

Interact with Alma:

Initiate a conversation with Alma, the Quest Counter operator.2

Access the Quest Counter:

Open the Quest Counter menu through Alma's dialogue options.

Navigate to the Change Lobby Menu:

Utilize the shoulder buttons (or corresponding controls) to navigate to the "Change Lobby Menu" option.

Select Online Single Player:

Choose the "Online Single Player" option from the lobby menu.
This action will restart the player's game instance, placing them in a solo session without a public lobby.

SOS Flare Functionality in Single-Player Mode:

The SOS Flare mechanic remains functional in single-player mode.
When an SOS Flare is activated in single-player mode, the game will call in NPC Support Hunters.
Additionally, if playing in a multiplayer lobby, and no players respond to the SOSflare in a timely manner, NPC support hunters will also be called in.
This ensures players can receive assistance regardless of their chosen mode.
