Our guide today aims to explain to you How to Create Custom Games in Marvel Rivals.
Marvel Rivals is the latest entrant in the PvP Hero Shooter genre, and it is packed to the brim with a ton of stuff that players can discover right off the bat. From the fleshed-out battle pass system to an in-game Store filled to the brim with various unique cosmetics for your favorite childhood hero, the game pulls all the stops to keep things quite entertaining.
Marvel Rivals features many game modes, such as the competitive one in which you put your abilities to the test. Then again, at times you just want to lay back and enjoy it in a very low-pressure environment. For those times, we have a bespoke game system. This post will go through building a custom game in Marvel Rivals where you are able to play with friends, bots, or even both.
How to Create Custom Games in Marvel Rivals?
In order to create a custom game in Marvel Rivals, complete the following steps:
- Open the game.
- Left-click the Play button in the top left corner of the main menu.
- Left-click the Change Mode button above the Start button.
- Under the Rivalry tab, select Custom Game.
This will popup the list of available lobbies that are currently active. Other lobbies can be joined or spectated provided they are set to be opened. To create a custom game, click the build button just below the list of the lobbies. Further below, a new section will appear, adding bots, inviting friends, and changing various lobby settings.
Encouraging Your Fellow Colleagues to Come Up with Their Marvel Rivals Game
You can invite your friends to one of the two teams once you have created a custom game. In order to invite your friends, you can click on one of the empty boxes filled with plus signs. This will open up your friend list from where you can choose the friends you want to invite into your lobby.
To shuffle the participants in the lobby, all you need to do is click the Random Shuffle button.
To play against bots, click the Add Bots option beneath the blank boxes. This will open the Add Bots menu where you can change the complexity of the AI and the number of bots to add.
To remove the player from teams, right-click on the player's spot and click Remove.
How to Change Marvel Rivals's Custom Game Settings
In the Custom Games of Marvel Rivals, players have a myriad of customization options. As a quick reference, below is a list of the options available to you in your virtual lobby.
- Above the Spectators box, you will see which server is currently active. Click on that to change it. This will give you a list of servers in each location, along with your latency. Click Confirm when you've decided which server is ideal for the whole lobby.
- By locking the room, you are given the ability to set a password for your own lobby. You can do this by accessing the Room Settings menu and selecting the checkbox next to the Game Name, labeled Lock Room. After typing in the password, click the Confirm button.
- To control who can enter the lobby, go to Room Settings and look for the Join Access option. It lets anyone in by default when set to Open to All. Inviting only friends or friends only can be selected.
- The next option you have is to change the Spectator Access. If you set this to Open to All, anyone can spectate the match, while setting it to Friends Only will limit people who can spectate using your friends list. If you don't want any, place this slider to "No Spectating".
- You have the option to implement a Ban/Pick system while playing on a Competitive Map. Three choices are available to you: Team Ban, Leader Ban, and No Ban/Pick.
- You can switch the map and game type in the personal game room by clicking on the map visible above the Start button. In Marvel Rivals, certain maps are usable in specific game types. Click Confirm after selecting the map you wish to play on. Doing this will activate that particular map.
- Click on the Multi-Select Box in the Map menu to choose which maps you want to activate.
The Custom Games feature is a great way to get a feel for Marvel Rivals, whether you're trying to play a few fast games with friends or prepare for the real thing. This is also a great way to tinker with your PC settings or to try out new hero combos with friends without risking losing the game.
This is all you need to know about How to Create Custom Games in Marvel Rivals, follow our steps and you're good to go.
