Players will face a variety of intriguing puzzles throughout their journey in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered — two of the finest titles from Crystal Dynamics. These puzzles are essential, not just an optional choice for a bonus item — unlike many contemporary games. These puzzles will bring your progress to a standstill until you meet their challenges head-on.
Defeating Melchiah, one of the game's formidable bosses, rewards players with a powerful new ability. Before players can locate him, they'll need to tackle a puzzle first. The addition of a compass significantly simplifies navigation compared to the original PS1 game.
Both pathspresent viable options; however, the right path will lead you to face 2enemies, whereas the left path will only have 1 awaiting you. The foe on the left is skewered by a spear, allowing you to take down all threeadversaries without the hassle of running back and forth to retrievetorches.
Please refrain from harming the human guard. He willyield as you approach him. Eliminating players in the game will causethem to retaliate against you. When you cause no harm to others, you can expect the same in return. This isn't the sole game that promotes theprotection of innocent NPCs.
Upon reaching the far east side ofthe path, the player will come across a door that invites them to enter. Proceed along the west wall and engage with the switch. Proceedeastward along the walls until you discover a sizable crank. Engage with this crank to activate the large machine. This machine is set to play a crucial role in the impending boss battle against Melchiah.
Return to the elevator and ride it back to the top. Activate the lever located across from the elevator to descend the central platform. Leap down and head towards the northwest corner. Check the west wall, and you'lldiscover a tunnel that leads you downward. Navigate through this tunnelto discover a room featuring four blocks illuminated by flickeringfires. Every one of these blocks can be pushed to a critical point,leading to a fiery destruction of the wooden beams that support thecentral platform. After the brief cinematic showcasing the wood burningconcludes, proceed to the next block until the platform collapsesdramatically.
It's time to start pushing the blocks once more.Position each block into one of the corners of the central platform. Asatisfying button-clicking sound will confirm when it's pushed into theright position, creating an experience reminiscent of a puzzle from aclassic adventure game. With all 4 blocks securely positioned, theplatform will descend once more, completing the last piece of thisintriguing puzzle. Leap onto the central platform and proceed to theeast. As you make your way along the path, you'll reach an open gatethat will close behind you. Prepare yourself, as this will initiate theepic showdown with Melchiah.
