Unfortunately, there's no manual way to remove the stolen tag. Instead, you simply have to wait for enough in-game time to pass for the tag to eventually go away. The exact amount of time varies with every single item and is determined by the item's overall value. For example, less valuable items like a spade will lose the stolen tag in just a few hours, while more valuable items will take longer.

Storing Stolen Items Safely

While waiting for the stolen tag to be removed, you have a fewoptions for keeping the item safe without carrying it on your person:

• Place it on the ground somewhere private.
• Leave it in a chest that's safe to store personal stuff in.
• Store it on your horse.
