Find one in Ancient Basin, another in the City of Tears, a third after the Pale Lurker in some hidden area near the Colosseum of Fools, and the last one can be bought from Sly in his shop in Dirtmouth.

The easiest way to get a Simple Key is to purchase it from Sly; all that is required is that one save up enough Geo to make the purchase. It will not be cheap, though, as Sly will want a whopping 950 Geo to let go of this useful-but-expensive item. This can hit your wallet a lot harder than you may want, if you are saving up for something else, say the Lumafly Lantern. But unfortunately, it's a necessary cost if you want to swim around in water that looks to be full of acid.
