This quest involves tracking down a peculiarly dressed Gudetama. This guide provides a comprehensive walkthrough of how to start and complete this recurring challenge, along with helpful tips for locating the elusive Tophat Gudetama each week.

Initiating "The Laziest Egg": A Photographic Prelude

Before you can embark on "The Laziest Egg," you must first complete the introductory quest, "Gudetama Snap." This quest, given by Pochacco, requires you to use the Camera (obtained earlier in the game) to photograph a specific Gudetama pointed out by Pochacco. After completing "Gudetama Snap," you'll need to photograph six more Gudetama scattered around the island. You can photograph these Gudetama before unlocking the Yellow Power Crystal quest, but you might need the Flippers or Snorkel to reach some of them.Once you've snapped photos of six Gudetama, return to Pochacco. He'll tell you about a peculiar Gudetama sporting a strange tophat and ask you to find and photograph it. This conversation unlocks "The Laziest Egg" quest. This quest is repeatable weekly, but the Tophat Gudetama's location changes every Sunday night.

Finding the Tophat Gudetama: A Weekly Hunt

Upon accepting "The Laziest Egg," a quest pop-up will briefly display animage of the Tophat Gudetama – a Gudetama with a mustache, sitting down, and wearing a distinctive, oversized purple tophat. This is your onlyvisual clue! The Tophat Gudetama's location is not fixed; it changesevery week.

Example Location (Week of January 27, 2025 - February 2, 2025): During this specific week, the Tophat Gudetama can be found on the Mount Hothead Dock.

• Accessing Mount Hothead: If you have unlocked the Flippers (by raising Keroppi's Friendship toLevel 2), you can swim northwest from the main Seaside Resort island toMount Hothead. This is the same route to find Retsuko.
• Alternative Route: You can also reach Mount Hothead on foot by traversing the island chain through the Spooky Swamp and Gemstone Mountain. You'll need to havecompleted the "Power Up The Gate" quest to access this land route.

General Tips for Locating the Tophat Gudetama (All Weeks):

The Tophat Gudetama's location changes every week, so these tips are crucial:

• Appearance: The Tophat Gudetama always appears sitting down, has a mustache, and wears a large, purple tophat. These characteristics are consistent across all locations and weeks.It will not appear in other Gudetama poses.
• Contrast: Look for the distinctive purple tophat in areas that lack purplecoloration. Conversely, in areas with a lot of purple, look for theGudetama's egg-yolk-colored body, as the hat might be harder to spotagainst a purple backdrop.
• Visibility: Gudetama are never completely hidden behind objects or scenery. Theyare always visible from the default camera angle. You won't have tomanipulate the camera to find them.

Completing the Quest: A Snapshot and a Reward

Once you find the Tophat Gudetama, take a selfie with it. Then, return toPochacco to complete "The Laziest Egg" weekly quest. Each successfulcompletion rewards you with a random Gudetama-related Crafting Recipe.This makes the weekly hunt for the Tophat Gudetama not only fun but also a valuable way to expand your crafting repertoire.
