What are all Selene boons in Hades 2?

Dark side

In theory, Dark Side sounds like a great ability, but in reality it's not that great. This blessing from Selene allows the player to become what is known as an "Invulnerable Living Nightmare", giving them invincibility. However, all of this only lasts 5 seconds, which is not enough to justify choosing this benefit over other much better options. Reusing will also require 90 magicka.

Howling Wolf

Wolf Howl is probably the weakest ability that Selene grants. Simply put, it allows players to use a curse to get up and then attack a specific area. It deals 200 damage, which is not very good compared to other skills. This advantage also makes the player vulnerable to enemy attacks. The only advantage is that it doesn't require many spells to reuse (only 80), which is relatively little compared to other spells.

Twilight Curse

Twilight Curse is an ability that can give players an advantage when facing a series of enemies. In fact, this blessing allows players to fire bullets that, when combined, cause transformations. This can be done with up to 10 enemies. The downside to this skill is that some strong enemies can resist it, meaning this skill can be completely useless against bosses. This doesn't help the player, either, as it requires 140 magic points before it activates again.

Phase change

Phase Shift is a great ability when fighting large groups of enemies. This bonus allows the player's hex to slow all movement by 80% for 5 seconds. Although it is not a lot of time, it can sometimes be enough to take out enemies when they are slower. This ability can also be very useful against bosses, as it gives the player a good opportunity to attack them when they are most vulnerable. This buff requires the player to resolve 150 spell points before it becomes available again.

Flowers bloom at night

Night Bloom is a very interesting skill, with this skill, the player can revive one of the enemies he killed in that particular encounter and force him to fight on his side. Enemies appear randomly, so this is a risky game, in that sense Night Blossom can capture an almost useless enemy. This skill also has a duration of 12 seconds, which can be quite useful, especially in boss fights, as it will help reduce the boss's health points. Players will be able to revive enemies once per 100 Magic, which isn't bad at all. Overall, this skill can be very useful.

Total solar eclipse

The total solar eclipse is a pretty powerful blessing from Selena. By using this blessing, players will be able to use their magic to destroy an area and deal 1000 damage in 4 seconds. While this ability is great, it can be quite difficult to use as the player must first cast 200 spells, which is a significant number, making it the most demanding gift of all of Selene's gifts.

Moonlight

This ability is perhaps the most devastating job in terms of what Selena has to offer. Using this gift, the player can fire a beam that deals 1200 damage over 3 seconds with magic. The player can control and move the beam while it is active. This can be very useful against both powerful enemies and your team. However, players will need to aim the laser well or risk wasting it, as it can be a little difficult to keep the beam focused on moving enemies. Delve deep into the underworld to find this extremely rare crafting material. This skill can be used once every 120 magic points, which is not difficult to obtain.

Moon water

While most of Selene's gifts can be extremely useful, Moonwater may consider the crown to be the best gift she offers. This wonderful boon allows players to heal themselves up to three times, using one spell each time. This resets every time the player approaches and uses the fountain. Players will be able to use this blessing after casting 70 spells. Each heel gives the player 25 HP. This is especially useful against bosses, as some of them hit very hard.

Selena's path to the stars

Now that players have chosen a blessing to unlock with Selene, the next time they encounter this moon goddess, they will not be able to choose a different blessing. Instead, players will have the option to upgrade an already chosen gift, called Path of Stars. Each gift has its own skill tree. Whether it is worth upgrading or not depends on the player you have installed. Such is the case, one blessing that definitely needs improvement is the Moon Water Blessing, for the reasons we have already discussed. In fact, at the beginning, the player can only use it three times until reaching the next fountain. However, when using Selene's upgrades, depending on the number of points needed, the player can do this 5 times instead of 3.

This is definitely a game changer, especially as encounters and boss fights become increasingly difficult. By using Star Path, players can also increase the healing effectiveness of Moon Water. It starts at 25+ hit points per use and can increase significantly. With a few points, players can reach over 55 HP, if not more. The ability to heal 5 times, each heal generating 55 HP instead of 3 times for 25 HP, is a game changer.

On the other hand, players shouldn't worry about upgrading an ability like Wolf Howl because it's not a very good ability. Instead, they can strive for other blessings.

Tips on How to Get the Most Out of Selena

Selene's Blessings are unique in that they require the player to use a certain amount of Magic to benefit from them. The amount depends on the blessing you choose. Therefore, players must use an omega-based fighting style to use many spells. It is also beneficial to drink as many Soul Tonics as you can to increase the maximum amount of magic.
