Regarding the split-screen mode, it is one of the last achievements to be unlocked. So you will have to advance a stretch before you can play with your friends in this mode.

The first thing you have to do is complete menu 9 of GT Cafe. You will have to finish in the top three positions in the Tokyo Highway Parade race and after completing these achievements, you will find a new multiplayer option on the world map.

In the Multiplayer option you will find two more options:

• One will allow you to access an online lobby.

• While in the other one you will be able to create a local multiplayer race in split screen, up to two players at the same time.

The host will be able to select the track, set the number of laps, date and time as desired. After setting this up, both players can choose their cars and the host can start the race.
