The first thing you have to do is get a settler who has the marksman skill, but not just any will do, it will have to be one with a marksman skill with a minimum level of 8.

The next thing you have to do is set their job as priority one to hunt> then you will have to mark some animals to hunt on the game map. To do this you will have to select the bow and arrow cloth that you can find in the lower right part of the screen or simply press the M key> then you will have to scan the map in search of animals such as rabbits or deer and track them.

When the prey has been located, the hunter will go in search of it and try to hunt the animals, keep in mind that if they have a bow they will have a better chance of catching the prey.
