Tropico 6 will not see the light on the scheduled date. Kalypso Media has announced that after evaluating the feedback of the closed beta and the comments of the players, the studio has decided to delay the game until March 29. In compensation for the sudden delay-the game was planned for this same month of January-the first DLC, which previously was to be paid, will be free for all those who buy the game before January 10 at 8:00 p.m. (CET)

Simon Hellwig, owner, co-founder and director of Kalypso Media, has admitted that during the festivities he played Tropico 6 "for many hours". He recognizes that he has liked "a lot" what he has seen, but that in his "humble opinion" it is not enough that the game has quality, but it must be outstanding, a status that has not reached today.

In this way, the studio has collected the feedback from the beta and decided to delay it to add everything that has remained in the pipeline. Despite the fact that the announcement was made suddenly, the company wanted to guarantee the quality of the product and said that they think they can still improve the game. "Kalypso and Limbic are working hard to add the requests of the community and thus improve the game in view of its launch", but admit, "this can not be done in the morning," so they need that additional time to polish the gaming experience.

Some of the features that are already in the title are the pathfinding, the multiplayer and the simulation of the economy. However, all these attributes "may benefit from greater balance" thanks to the extra time. How could it be otherwise, Hellwig has apologized on several occasions for the delay.

Tropico 6 will be released first on PC and then on PS4 and Xbox One. It is not known if the delay of the compatible version will affect the rest of the editions.

Tropico 6 already has date: The President returns in January

Tropico 6, the new delivery of the celebrated saga of strategy and diplomatic management, will arrive at PC on January 25, 2019, both in physical and digital format. This has been announced by Kalypso Media, confirming its launch a bit later than was promised in its official presentation in mid-2017. The planned versions of PS4 and Xbox One will arrive sometime next summer.

Terrible dictator or pacifist stateman?
For the first time in the saga, we will have within our reach the total control of an entire archipelago, several islands that we must manage at the same time and that we can even connect through gigantic infrastructures. We can even send secret agents abroad to steal famous monuments such as the Statue of Liberty or the Eiffel Tower, among many others.

So much so, that the possibilities of construction and management are broader than ever, with a handful of options to make our archipelago a world-class powerhouse; it will be our decision to act as a fearsome dictator or opt for the most pacifist diplomacy.

And is that thanks to the new research system we can delve into the aspects closest to politics in our day to day, to the point of carrying out electoral speeches with promises that we can never meet. Or if?

Tropico 6 will be available next January 25, 2019 for PC.
