Information given by various media point to the cancellation of the open world Star Wars game that EA had been developing but here we have what they declare.

In recent days has been replicated by different media a report originally published by Kotaku in which they claim that the latest EA project based on the successful Star Wars has been finally canceled. From that moment the truthfulness of that information was taken as real, but the days passed and the company had not said anything. Well finally the first official response was given by him, in a statement in which they took very good care of the words they used as it is very ambiguous and at least it does not make clear to us whether the videogame development continues or not.

The express statement:
"These past nights have speculated a lot about one of our SW projects." As a natural part of our creative project, the great work of our Vancouver team continues and will evolve into future SW content and games. We are fully committed to doing more. S Wars games, we are very excited about Star W.Jedi: Fallen Order of Respawn, so we will give more information about our next new projects when the time is right. "

Thus the declaration ends and at least it leaves us in the same place as before the issuance of the communiqué.

EA in its history had problems with the exploitation of the rights of Star Wars and to make a recapitulation of the facts it is necessary to remember what was the closing of Visceral Games and the cancellation of its project nicknamed Ragtag. After a while of this EA gave a turn in its work and altogether EA Worldwide Studios with EA Vancouver directed by Amy Hennig that later would go away to found its own company leaving behind its successful direction of the original trilogy of Uncharted.

From that point in spite of everything things would continue well at least until now, that Kotaku published his report where they indicated that SW had been canceled and so it seems to be if we take into account several issues such as the exit ta, mien of Jade Raymond, founder of EA Motive at the end of 2018 and that makes the situation in the Electronic Arts offices even more pleasant.

In if EA had not offered more features on the game beyond that it would be open world and its main responsible would be Amy Hennig and also would do it in a big way taking advantage of the possibilities of the Lucasarts franchise. Its development began in 2017 with the code name of Orca, shortly after the aforementioned closure of Visceral Games, reason why specific details were not advanced before.

Ragtag took some elements that had already been advanced as sketches, illustrations, arts, and assets and was migrating to the EA Vancouver project, only adapted to an open world with action.

Disney and Electronic Arts have an agreement to exploit the Star Wars license that expires in 2025, so it would not be strange if the announcement talks about plans for the future.

Other media have tried to get a more accurate answer as to whether the project is canceled or still standing but no more official answers have been given by the company and the latest known about it is information given by Kotaku who say that EA Vancouver is working in another video game different from Star Wars.
