NES 'Zapper' will be compatible with HD TVs - Ultimate Guide

The classic NES artifact will return to salons around the world with a new version compatible with HD TVs. Years after the release of the Nintendo 8-bit console, you can play games like Duck Hunt and Hogan's Alley without difficulty.
Hyperkin, manufacturer of retro consoles and accessories compatible with old consoles, has presented the new Hyper Blaster HD this week in the traditional CES of Las Vegas, which is an updated replica of the original Nintendo Zapper, which imitates its appearance and functionality . The most interesting thing about this device is that it will work with modern televisions, something that until now was impossible.

The manufacturer, has not yet given details about the price, however, I confirm that this accessory is only compatible with original NES consoles, leaving aside replicas and the like even in Hyperkin's own retro machines.

It should be noted that the original console made use of photodiodes to determine if the player pointed correctly because the gun detected the changes in the intensity of the image when reflected on the screen of the old TV sets, based on the beam of light emitted by the player peripheral.

The Zapper pistol debuted in 1984 in Japan and had as its successor the Super Scope of Super Nintendo. The Zapper added games like Duck Hunt, Hogan's Alley or Wild Gunman, and became one of the most iconic elements of video games.
