Whether you regret a minor detail or wish to completely overhaul your character's aesthetic, the game provides a way to alter your appearance.
How To Change Appearance in Fantasy Life i
The ability to change your character's appearance in Fantasy Life i is unlocked at a specific point in the game's progression: you need to gain access to the Guild Office at the Base Camp.This crucial facility becomes available during Chapter 3's quest, "Digging Up Secrets of the Past." During this quest, you will return to the Base Camp to assist Duglas in his transformation from a Strangeling back into a human, a process facilitated by the Goddess Statue.Upon successfully using the Bone Dragon to return to the present era, a brief cutscene will play, revealing the newly accessible Guild Office building. Enter this building to engage with the characters inside and learn about the new mechanics now at your disposal.Inside the Guild Office, you'll encounter a few key NPCs:
- Kunugi will fill you in on recent island events and officially become your first Buddy.
- Speak with Cooke to learn about his services, which include the ability to build housesfor your friends at Base Camp. You'll need to go outside, place one ofthese structures, and wait for it to finish building.
- Next, return inside the Guild Office and speak with Boyle. Boyle also lists his services, and it is through him that you will be able to assign Kunugi to the newly built empty house.
Once these initial setup steps are completed with Cooke and Boyle (building a house and assigning a Buddy), you will then be free to access theirfull range of services. Boyle is the NPC you are looking for, as he is responsible for all character customization options in Fantasy Life i.
Accessing the Character Creation Menu:Approach Boyle and select the "Change Appearance" option. This actionwill transport you back to the very same character creation menu youencountered at the beginning of the game. Here, you have completefreedom to re-sculpt your character's look from a wide array ofcategories, including:
- Face Types
- Body Types
- Hairstyles
- Eyes
- Eyebrows
- Noses
- Mouths
- Ears
- Facial Features (such as freckles, beauty marks, etc.)
- Voices
What Cannot Be Changed:The only element of your character that players cannot change after initial creation is their name. Your chosen name will remain with your character throughout the entirety of your gameplay experience.
Cost of Changing Appearance:One of the most player-friendly aspects of character customization in Fantasy Life i is that it is entirely free. Altering your character's appearance at Boyle's desk in the GuildOffice at the Base Camp does not cost any Dosh (the in-game currency) or require any special materials.
