Depending on how you build your character, there are two best ways to save Kent during the Silver Shroud quest. The first way is to choose "Speak Like a Shroud" three times, which will cause Sinjin's followers, including Avery, to scatter to different corners of the room. This will protect you from being attacked when fighting Sinjin. However, Sinjin will immediately attack Kent, so you must kill him before he does. Since you won't have to worry about his minions, you'll be able to focus all your efforts on Sinjin, allowing you to kill him quickly and easily using the method described below.
The second way is to pass the Charisma check, which will allow Sinjin and his followers to target you instead of Kent. How to get the Silver Cloak suit in Fallout 4
The reward for rescuing Kent in the "Silver Cloak" side quest is the ability to upgrade Silver Cloak, which when you reach level 45 becomes the third best armor in the game in terms of anti-death abilities, pure love. The Silvercloak armor is the suit worn by Silvercloak, a famous comic book character. Reduces damage taken when fighting demons and human NPCs by 15%. Additionally, the hat grants 1 point of perception and the cloak grants 1 point of dexterity. However, if you complete this quest above level 45, you will not be able to upgrade to level 100, so keep that in mind. If this happens, you can use console commands to upgrade your armor to 45.
