Any kind of animal, including cats, dogs, goats, fey deer, and countless more, can be tamed so long as it doesn't actively want to harm you. Some are useful allies in battle, and some are simply cute companions to have around the base.

How to tame animals in Enshrouded

Only non-aggressive animals can be tamed in Enshrouded. There are still plenty of animals that could be considered. Having a plan is essential since wild animals will usually flee the moment you approach them. It takes the correct kind of food to entice them and three pats to finally bring them under control.

Identifying Emily Fray, the Farmer, is the first and foremost concern. She not only provides you with materials to make beds, feeders, and other pet necessities, but she also lets you unlock Bait, the right food to lure pets in the wild. Gaining access to Emily will also grant you the objective to start taming animals, with goats being the first to be tamed.

The first step in taming goats is acquiring or crafting goat baits. Additionally, you will learn the system here, which will help you while dealing with other animals. After you've attached the bait to your bar, crouch down and stealthily approach the target animal. From a safe distance, toss the bait towards them and wait for them to start eating.

Sneaking up on an animal while it's eating is the next stage in taming it in Enshrouded. Stop and move backwards if you see a Question Mark appear while you're getting close. Continue to retreat if an exclamation point appears. The longer you remain, the more likely it is that they will flee. Upon completion of petting, the word "Pick Up" will appear on the screen, indicating that it is ready to be claimed.

The domesticated animal will be added to your collection. Having them in your inventory saves you the trouble of feeding them. Taming more of these at once will allow them to procreate. While it's your responsibility to ensure the happiness of the tamed animals, you'll be able to discern their specific requirements once you've established your base.

When you take the time to make an animal happy, they may reward you with resources. You can get milk from goats, for instance. But different animals call for different kinds of bait. Keep in mind that you'll need to finish certain objectives before you can tame certain creatures. For instance, in order to get Yaks, you must first do the Gathering Wool quest in the Albaneve Summits mission. The correct bait, which can be made by Emily Fray, is also required.

Obtaining the majority of the ingredients for these meals shouldn't be too difficult; killing wolves or other non-essential animals is the most you might have to worry about. Some supplies, like Stinging Nettles, require a bit more work to locate. The list of ingredients for each recipe is down below.
