Companionship with a furry pet is essential for enduring the challenging wilderness of the Albaneve Summits. You'll have to tame an animal before you can possess one, though; the ability to do so was added in the latest Souls of the Frozen Frontier update for Enshrouded.
In Enshrouded, there are a few methods to tame a pet. One of the numerous survivors in the game, the Farmer, must be unlocked first. Finding a feline companion and finishing the Farmer's mission are the next steps.
Enshrouded: How to tame a cat
Make sure you have some delicious treats that Fluffy will enjoy before you out on your quest to find her. Yes, with the Farmer's help, you may make Cat Food Bait, which is necessary for taming a cat in Enshrouded. To find Cat Food Bait, go to the Farmer and go to her crafting menu, then scroll down to the "Baits" section. A mound of minced meat with some greenery protruding from it will be the first thing you'll notice.
Here are the things you'll need to whip up some cat food bait:
- Goats and rabbits in the Springlands and Low Meadows leave 2 ounces of lean, raw meat behind.
- Wolf packs in the Low Meadows and Springlands often leave behind a single pound of raw meat.
- One Raw Game Dropped by Revelwood-area boars
- In Revelwood, you can find the spiky green plant known as stinging nettle.
With the Farmer's assistance, you can also make Cat Food from Wolf Meat, which you'll need to give to your cat once you receive it. You don't need to craft cat food before catching a cat, but it's a good idea to do it now if you don't want to have to go wolf hunting more than once.
Finding a cat in Enshrouded Embervale is like trying to find a needle in a haystack; the world is expansive and difficult to navigate without proper navigational knowledge. Players are in luck, because the Alchemist can give them the lowdown on where to track down a feline friend. The Alchemist Tower, also known as Lone Thistle, was formerly inhabited by several cats, according to him.
The following directions will lead you to Lone Thistle: follow the map to the south of the Revelwood Ancient Spire or the northeast of the Springlands one. Be ready to face off against level 11 adversaries and the shroud around this Alchemist Tower. The tower is tall enough that once you enter it, you will be outside the shroud, which is great news for people who haven't upped the amount of time they can spend in it. Considering how taming an animal in Enshrouded can be a lengthy process including trial and error, this is quite helpful.

To access further levels of the tower, you can go to the surrounding mountains of Lone Thistle and glide into them if you haven't yet reached level 11. You can still dodge the monsters defending the area by fighting the rats that inhabit the tower.
You can locate your cat on the third floor, but you should use caution because rats have taken up residence in this tower. Despite their harmless-sounding name, Enshrouded's rats are serious business and may inflict serious harm. Assuming you've exterminated all of the tower's rats, a little cat will emerge, its health meter displayed in yellow. Your new best friend, Tyger, is here. Prepare your supplies of cat food and bait; you are about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime with your first pet.
Explaining how to tame an animal in Enshrouded
A list of cat-taming tips will appear on the right side of your screen after you choose the bait from your hotbar. Here are the full methods to help speed up the process, because even with the game's advice, properly trapping an animal can still be tricky:
- Prepare your pet bait by attaching it to your hotbar.
- You can stoop down by pressing the LS button on the controller or C on a personal computer.
- Approach the animal stealthily, then throw your bait in front of it by pressing the X button on the controller or the left mouse button.
- The animal will start to approach the bait when a question mark appears over its head.
- As soon as the animal begins to nibble on the bait, stealthily approach from behind.
- Press the button to pet the animal when you're close enough. A crimson heart will subsequently emerge above its head.
- Remove yourself off the animal's path and do it again two more times.
- Stay back if the animal's head receives a red exclamation point. The animal will get spooked and your progress will be reset if you don't.
Tyger takes a few minutes to tame, and I can attest that this process may be quite tiresome. Using the room's stairs to your advantage was a game-changer for me; the cat won't be able to see you if you hide behind them. You should soon be able to fill out all three hearts after enough trial and error. When you're ready, grab Tyger and he'll be in your inventory. Return to your base and, just like you would when summoning a survivor, lay him down on the ground.
Assembling a Cat Bed and Basin
Tyger, like all the other NPCs, will desire a bed. You can make one with a Wood Log, two Plant Fiber, and a Torn Cloth by visiting the Farmer. In the process, carve out a bowl for your feline friend out of a single log. After setting both things down, fill the bowl with cat food by interacting with it. The icons showing that Tyger needs these things should go away once he realizes they have been placed.

Tyger remained with the symbols perched above his head even after I set the Cat Bowl and bed down. In order to resolve this, I retrieved Tyger and set him down next to the objects. He recognized the bed right away, but I had to fill and dump the bowl multiple times before he would eat. That is quite the finicky eater!
You will be able to pet Tyger after he is fully set up. This grants you Paw's Touch, a useful boost that increases your health by 25 for 30 minutes. Feeling fuzzy fur is the most wonderful sensation, isn't it?
