While it has no impact on health, water is considered a very crucial resource for adventurers in Enshrouded. Hydration plays an important role in stamina, exploration, and survival in general. The lack of water supplies will surely afflict the player with fatigue, lesser effectiveness in combat, and even death. Most recipes require water as an ingredient, hence limiting crafting without a sufficient supply of this liquid.

Although Embervale doesn't have any major bodies of water, there are specific spots where replenishment may occur. Ranging from visiting specific areas to carrying canteens of water or crafting items to purify water, players should make use of these chances to keep themselves hydrated for maximum capability. This way, their chances of succeeding in Enshrouded will get even better.

How to get Water in Enshrouded?



Early in the game of Enshrouded, the well at Longkeep serves as a means of sustenance. Handily situated near one of the starting areas, it is optimally positioned for players to set up their first base of operations and ensure a supply of water. The well has unlimited water inside, but there is a cooldown between scoops. Each scoop results in five units of water, and the cooldown can be reset by going to the menu and restarting the game.


As you progress further into Embervale, it pays to keep an eye out for similar wells at each of the other abandoned towns. While many wells are placed in the center of settlements, this is not often the case. Many towns you might find don't have a well. It's always a good idea to scout ahead, searching for such water sources before settling for a base in some remote area.


Remember, water is a very valuable commodity in Enshrouded. While the well in Longkeep is reliable for early game, one needs to think about the future when farther areas from Longkeep will be explored.


Building Your Own Water Source



Once you've saved Mason and gotten the Masonry Tools, you'll be able to create your own well. This will make an easy source of constant water for both your base and travels. To craft a well, you'll need the following materials:


  • 100 Stone
  • 20 Linen
  • 1 Wooden Bucket


Maximizing Water Collection



  • Multiple Wells: You can greatly increase your water output by placing a few wells around your base. Placing wells near you where you usually spend most of your time, which is farming or crafting, can vastly increase their usefulness.
  • Player-built wells: Scoop water from other player-built wells and replace them quickly to pick it up and place it back down. This sometimes can allow gathering of extra water in a somewhat timely fashion if supplies are running low or if reserves need replenishing.
  • Enshrouded Legendary Gear: While farming the player-made wells, keenly keep an eye out for nearby chests which may house the legendary gear of Enshrouded. These powerful items seriously boost the traits in your character and can provide you with serious perks in the combat.

Importance of Water



Water is very important for your character's survival. It allows you to increase your maximum stamina and recovery, thus becoming crucial for long journeys-mostly during the early game, where you still don't have gear or other foods. Moreover, water is required for farming. It yields the very important source of crops for growing food and maintaining an adequate amount of it.


Improved Water Wells



As you progress further, you will also be able to craft Improved Water Wells, which have a higher water charge capacity compared to the regular well. These wells will, therefore, be very great in addition to your base for having more reliable and productive water. Upgrade your wells as soon as possible to improve your supply of water and help increase your growing needs.
