Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist: Shackled Beast Strategies
The Shackled Beast might be a heavy hitter, but he isn't very hard to take down because of his very simple move set. Staying behind him and dodging most of his hits becomes easy once you get the hang of his attack patterns.
Primarily, Shackled Beast Attacks
- The boss does a broad area of effect chain swing around himself in a wide circle twice. Another option is for him to advance the chain when the swing is finished.
- Shackled Beast spins his chain quickly before slamming it down on the ground before him, sending a shockwave out where he strikes.
- Rush: Shackles beast crouches down, before charging forwards and attempting to stab you. Shackled Beast cannot be stunned during this attack.
- Shackled Beast will employ the Summon Chain attack when the boss's health drops below 25%. He leaps vertically before slamming onto the arena floor and summons chains diagonally from the ground. You should have at least three Homunculi Abilities with you as you face Shackled Beast. You should also have Muninn available if you visited the Magicite Mine before coming to Tethered Steeples.
During the encounter with the Shackled Beast, try to stay behind the boss for as long as possible. Retrench when he starts the Chain Swing Attack. Inflict some with Lito's Glacial Fist and then evade from boss chain throws so you don't take the damage. If you stay behind the boss, you shouldn't have to bother with the Chain Slam attack. When the Shackled Beast charges towards you, Double Jump and Dash to the opposite direction so you won't be attacked.
You can also dodge the Summon Chain attack without much hassle. In order not to get grabbed by the boss, immediately begin dashing at the screen when it jumps across to the center of the arena. You should try rushing forward to the boss towards the very end for some hits.
Counter of the Shackled Beast: How Does It Work?
To use Shackled Beast's Counter, like all Homunculi Abilities, players will need to equip it from a Respite. There are three variants of the ability:
- Press the ability button as an attack falls to disable an enemy's assault and counter with a spinning chain that deals damage to nearby adversaries.
- Press the ability button the moment it lands a lunging attack that faces straight ahead to counter an enemy assault. This will neutralize the said attack.
- When an opposing strike lands, press the ability button to nullify it and let out a howl that unleashes tremendous damage in return.
- Even though it doesn't deal Break Damage, Benumbed Howl has the widest Area of Effect.
