There is not much secret here, when you find yourself in a lobby that takes too long to fill up, you will want to cancel said matchmaking and move on to another without wasting time.

After canceling, you can change your matchmaking region to Europe, Japan, Central US, or whatever the game covers, although the closer it is to your actual location the better.
