As you advance the main questline, you'll unlock three primary Aionian Tech abilities, each corresponding to different types of locked chests.Here's a breakdown of the abilities and the chests they unlock:

Rosetta Aionian Tech:

• How to Unlock: You'll gain this early in the campaign by progressing through the main story quests, specifically after meeting the Dean, Rebecca, and undertaking a short quest to gather information.
• Chest Type: Rosetta unlocks Tier 1 and Tier 2 chests that display prompts like "Requires knowledge of an unfamiliar language" or "Requires in-depth knowledge of an unfamiliar language."
• How to Open: Once you have the Rosetta tech, you can simply approach and interact with these chests to open them. No special puzzle or action is required beyond having the ability.

Matterspark:

• How to Unlock: This is one of the first mystery abilities you'll encounter. You'll acquire it early in the campaign, and later, Matterspark Level 2 is unlocked through completing the Exile's Accord Strangelet and Central Academy Strangelet quest chains, followed by The Outer Steppes Strangelet and The Gorge Strangelet quest chains.
• Chest Type: Matterspark chests are shielded and often give prompts like "Requires highly concentrated unknown energy."
• How to Open:
  • Tier 1: For initial Matterspark chests, you typically need to use your ball form's attacks (likely a new traversal mode or ability in The Edge of Fate) to charge nearby batteries or vex pillars, which then removes the forcefield blocking the chest.
  • Tier 2 (Matterspark Level 2): For more advanced Matterspark chests, you'll need Matterspark Level 2. You transform into Matterspark, charge your shield-breaking pulse by collecting glowing orbs, and then use the pulse near the shielded construct (often blocky Vex conflux pylons) to break the barrier. This also includes "Matterspark puzzles" connected to a Field Generator that can be overcharged with this ability.

Relocator:

• How to Unlock: The Relocator and its Level 2 upgrade are earned through the Exile's Accord Strangelet quest chain, which becomes available shortly after you arrive at the Caldera Aion settlement.
• Chest Type: These chests usually give the prompt "Requires upgraded Fallen tech."
• How to Open: Similar to Rosetta, once you have the Relocator upgrade, you can typically just approach and open these chests. Some may involve a "Relocator II Puzzle" where you jump between nodes to deactivate a shield generator. Mattermorph:

Rewards from Aionian Chests

These Aionian Chests can contain Kepler Destination Weapons. A unique feature related to these rewards is the Altar of Relativity, located in the Aionian base of operations in Caldera.

• Attuning Rewards: By interacting with the Altar of Relativity, players can attune to specific rewards. This means you can influence the type of weapon you're likely to receive from these chests.
• Curated Rolls: The weapons obtained from Aionian Chests are not "God Rolls" (random perfect perk combinations) but rather curated rolls that are guaranteed to come with improved perks, making themconsiderably stronger than regular versions found as World Drops. Thisallows players to target specific weapon archetypes with strong,pre-determined perk combinations.

• Agape: Heavy-Burst Hand Cannon (often praised for its strong perk combinations).
• Giver's Blessing: Rapid-Fire Frame Auto Rifle.
• Precipial: Precision Frame Void Shotgun.
• Ulterior Observation: Aggressive Frame Machine Gun (Stasis damage).
• Last Thursday: Adaptive Frame Strand Burst Rifle.
