How to Unlock the Graviton Through the Ages Quest

Before you can claim Graviton Spike, you must first complete the Edge of Fate campaign on any difficulty. Once finished, head to the Altar of Relativity in the Caldera hub and speak with Lodi to begin the Graviton Through the Ages quest.
While the quest itself is relatively short (taking about an hour), the final step requires participation in the Sieve activity, which is only available at specific times. To avoid delays, we recommend starting the quest when Sieve has 30-45 minutes remaining on its timer.

Step 1: Investigate the Outer Steppes

Your first objective is to locate a Rosetta terminal in the Outer Steppes, found in the northwest region of Kepler.

• Travel through the tunnel network until you reach the Outer Wastes.
• Follow the Exotic waypoint on your HUD, then turn left at the broken vents.
• Circle around the rock formations to find the Rosetta terminal.

The first weapon component is hidden inside a cliffside structure in the southwest corner of the Outer Wastes. To access it, you must charge three generators using Matterspark:

Generator #1 – Located below a floor gap near a dormant gravity lift.

Generator #2 – Use the gravity lift to launch into a nearby wall gap.

Generator #3 – Roll through a pipe with Matterspark to reach the final generator.

Once all generators are active, enter the newly opened door and interact with the rubble pile to retrieve the first weapon part.

Step 2: Investigate the Gorge

Next, travel to The Gorge and locate the Rosetta terminal inside the Stellar Sink tunnels. The waypoint will guide you to a cylindrical Vex structure where the terminal is embedded.

The second component is deeper in the southeast section of the Stellar Sink. Follow these steps:

• Enter a Matterspark tube and take the straight path at the fork.
• Jump onto a ledge in the far-right corner, then use Matterspark to slip into an adjacent room.
• Locate a Mattermorph cluster on the left—destroy one of the eggs to gain an augmented melee ability.
• Use your new melee to move a Vex cube blocking a passage.
• Backtrack to the forked tube, take the right path, and clear another Vex cube obstruction.
• The weapon piece will be inside the revealed chamber.

Step 3: Investigate the Exile’s Accord

Make your way to the eastern edge of Kepler to find the next Rosetta terminal in Exile’s Accord.

• Enter the spore-infested chamber near the Rosetta terminal.
• Use Matterspark and take the right exit portal to reach a Fallen base.
• Find a Relocator cannon in the back-left corner.
• Fire the cannon at a teleporter pad through a ceiling vent.
• Use the teleporter to ascend—the weapon part will be on your right.

Step 4: Collect Vex Data Fragments

Before proceeding, you must gather Vex Data Fragments by defeating Vex enemies. The fastest method is:

• Farm the Vex spawns outside Caldera.
• Activate the mote pylon inside a nearby structure to trigger a Hydra boss fight, yielding additional fragments.

Step 5: Investigate the Aionian Campus

The final weapon piece is hidden in Aionian Campus (Central Academy).

• Navigate to a laser-blocked door with a nearby teleporter.
• Head above ground to the campus and locate a Mattermorph cluster inside a red cylinder.
• Use your augmented melee to break open a crane-held container containing a Relocator cannon.
• Return to the teleporter, activate it, and claim the last component.

Step 6: Complete a Sieve Run (Time-Gated Step)

Sieve is a rotating activity available only at certain times. Once active:

• Launch Sieve and complete one full run.
• Open the final reward chest to receive Graviton Spike (Red Border).
• Extract its Deepsight Resonance at the Enclave in Savathûn’s Throne World to unlock crafting.
