Unearthing Deltarune Chapter 3's ultimate secret ending is a multi-layered endeavor that hinges upon achieving three S-ranks during Tenna’s chaotic and captivating game show. As you progressively acquire each S-rank, a pathway will unlock to a uniquely labeled “S” door. Entering this door will invariably reveal a secret minigame, which, upon successful completion, yields a series of special and utterly essential items. Below are the three crucial initial items you will find as you master these challenges:

Ice Key (Acquired after completing the secret minigame unlocked by your first S-rank from Round One)
Shelter Key (Acquired after completing the secret minigame unlocked by your second S-rank from Round Two)
Shadow Mantle (Acquired after completing the secret minigame unlocked by your third S-rank from Round Three)

Discovering the first two keys is pivotal, as they collectively enable you to eventually locate the Shadow Mantle. This particular item is absolutely indispensable; you will need to equip it to stand any chance of survival against the chapter’s daunting secret boss. Without the Shadow Mantle donned, any player confronting this boss will be continuously subjected to devastating one-hit attacks, resulting in immediate defeat. Your ultimate goal is to endure this intense battle, and after a prolonged engagement, inflict one final, decisive attack to claim your ultimate prize.Furthermore, a significant element of these initial minigames is their solo nature. You will be playing exclusively as Kris, without the assistance of Susie or Ralsei. You must complete each segment of the minigame by yourself, relying solely on your own skills. However, a helpful aspect is that these minigames directly mirror the map layouts of the preceding rounds of Tenna’s show, making them relatively easy to traverse if the original map is fresh in your memory.

Finding the S-Rank Room’s Minigame

Before you can even begin your quest for the secret ending, your first objective is to achieve your initial S-rank in Tenna's game show, thereby unlocking access to the “S” labeled door. This exclusive entrance is situated on the top-right side of the Green Room. Once you successfully complete Round One of Tenna's show and are awarded an S-rank, immediately head through this door. You will find yourself in a rather run-down set of dressing rooms, with the entrance to the secret minigame room conveniently located to your left.Upon entering this room, you will discover what appears to be an "original" minigame, a precursor to the polished version you just played on Tenna’s broadcast. Initially, you won't have a controller to interact with it. However, simply leaving the room will reveal an “Odd Controller” lying on the floor. Pick it up and return to the previous room to finally begin playing this challenging, original minigame.Should you fail to achieve an S-rank in Round One, you are presented with two alternative paths: you can either meticulously replay this initial part of the chapter until you secure the elusive S-rank through sheer skill, or you can opt for a more expedient, albeit costly, solution by paying 1,500 points to the Point Merchant. This merchant is located to the south of the Green Room. If you have accumulated the necessary 1,500 points, exit the Green Room via its south exit and follow the hallway until you encounter a distinctive golden Tenna statue. Turning right at this point will lead you directly to the merchant, who, in exchange for your points, will immediately grant you an S-rank for that round. With this, you can now access the “S” room without any impediments.

Finding the Ice Key

During this first secret minigame, asnoted, you will play as Kris only, with no assistance from Susie orRalsei. The map within this minigame is almost perfectly identical tothe one you explored during the chapter’s first round in Tenna's show.However, the objective shifts dramatically: rather than simplyaccumulating points by exploring the map, your primary task is to level up Kris by systematically defeating enemies, thereby growing strong enough to ultimately locate the Ice Key.

The initial challenge, however, is that you begin without a weapon to fight these enemies. At least, not immediately. To acquire a sword, headdirectly south from the map’s entrance until you spot a lone fish in apond. From this point, navigate left, then south twice, then east, andfinally south one last time. This precise path will lead you to astaircase that descends to your much-needed sword. With your new weaponfirmly in hand, it’s time to embark on the crucial task of grindinglevels.

To find the Ice Key, Kris must reach max level. Defeating every single enemy present on the map, including the aquaticfish, the vibrant flowers, and those peculiar purple creatures, willbring you to level three. Once you achieve level three, make your way to the easternmost side of the map. Here, you will discover a long path that culminates in two obstructingcacti. By this point, your strength will have increased sufficiently toallow you to cut down these plant obstacles, granting you access to anew, unexplored region where you can defeat additional enemies to reachyour final, maximum level.

Once Krishas achieved max level, retrace your steps back to the path where thetwo cacti once stood. Position yourself directly in front of where thecacti were, and then use your newfound strength to cut through the trees positioned directly south of you. You will need to continue cuttingthrough these trees, passing through approximately four to five screensof dense foliage. After persistent effort, you will finally discover aglistening treasure chest containing the coveted Ice Key, marking the successful acquisition of the first of three essential items required to unlock Deltarune Chapter 3’s secret ending and boss.

Finding the Shelter Key

With the Ice Key now safely in your inventory, it’s time to re-engage with Tenna’s game show. Just as before, you will need to achieve an S-rank in this second round to regain access to the exclusive minigame room.Should you fall short of the S-rank requirement, the option to pay anadditional 1,500 points to the Point Merchant remains available to instantly rank up.

Once you have successfully completed the second round and returned to thefamiliar environment of the Green Room, proceed back to the "Original"minigame room and have Kris play it. This time, the minigame map willdynamically shift to precisely mirror the layout you were just playingduring Round Two of Tenna’s show.

Like the previous minigame, your primary goal is to defeat enemies until you achieve max level. However, for this particular challenge, you willonly need to reach level two before venturing off to another part of the map to complete the remaining objectives.

To get started, follow the path by moving left across two screens, then proceed by running north along the river. You will soon discover a cave entrance containing your essential sword, which will enable you to defeat any enemies you encounter.Systematically travel around the area and eliminate enemies until youreach level two, as this will unlock the crucial ability to break ferns.

With this newfound plant-destroying power unlocked, head to the pondfeaturing three raft platforms and four ferns that are blocking awaterfall. Hop onto a raft and diligently destroy these obstructingplants before traveling up the waterfall. Heading directly north fromhere will lead you out of a cave, where you’ll then board another raft.Navigate this raft directly northwest for several screens.

From this point, travel west until the yellow-orange stones are no longer visible along the top of your screen, then proceed directly north. After traversing several screens, you will spot distinctive white rocks in the water, indicating it's time to turn left again. Continue by going west and then north one last time. Here, you will notice a wooden platform along the rocks, allowing youto safely dock your raft and proceed to your right. Keep runningdirectly right until you observe grey rocks appearing on the right sideof your screen, then turn north again, following along the white rocks.

Now that you have completed the difficult task of navigating this intricate path, break the final fern and head inside the newly revealed area.Defeat every enemy you find until you’re close to level four. You’llspot a white creature alongside text saying “the forbidden path began with ice magic.” For those familiar with the lore, this phrase holds significant meaning. Defeat this creature to reach max level, which will then allow you to leave the room. Proceed by traveling north in the room featuring the central pond, and destroy the bright orangebarriers to reveal an ice mage. Utilize this ice mage’s abilities to freeze enemies, then strategically push these frozen foesonto blue buttons to unlock subsequent doorways, enabling your traversal through the challenging dungeon ahead.

After a period of navigating this dungeon, you will encounter what appears to be a perplexing four-way endless maze. The key to solving this intricate puzzle is to run a few tiles past any given intersection and observe if the ice mage companion follows you.If the ice mage does not follow, it signifies that this is not thecorrect direction. If, however, they do follow, continue along thatspecific path, repeating these observation steps multiple times untilyou successfully reach the end of the maze. At the conclusion of thislabyrinthine challenge, you will find a doorway that leads into a darkabyss.

Proceeding directly northwithin this darkened room will bring you straight to a sparkling light.Interact with this light to obtain the Shelter Key, successfully knocking out the second of three crucial items required to unlock Deltarune’s Chapter 3 secret ending. You’ll then need to repeat this one last time justbefore taking on the chapter’s final storyline boss to get the ShadowMantle, giving you enough protection to take on the Roaring Knight.
