Customizing your suit in Death Stranding 2 allows you to personalize Sam’s appearance early in the game, unlike the first installment where players had to wait until post-game. This guide covers everything you need to know about changing suit colors, unlocking new shades, and making the most of your customization options.

How to Change Your Suit Color in Death Stranding 2

Changing your suit color is a simple process once you gain access to a Private Room. Here’s how to do it:
  • Enter a Private Room – Visit any facility with a Private Room or go aboard the DHV Magellan.
  • Locate the Suit – Look for the suit hanging on the wall.
  • Open Customization Menu – Press Triangle (PlayStation) / Y (Xbox) / corresponding key (PC) to enter the Customize Look option.
  • Select the Normal Suit – Only the default Normal Suit can be recolored; special suits like Desert Yellow or Black Camo retain their original colors.
  • Choose Your Color – Scroll through available colors and press X (PlayStation) / A (Xbox) / confirm key (PC) to apply.
  • Revert to Default – If you change your mind, press Triangle / Y in the customization menu to reset.

  • This feature is available as soon as you unlock the Private Room in Ciudad Nudo del Norte (C1) after completing Order 002 in Chapter 1: Sam.
