How to Get Honey in Story of Seasons Grand Bazaar

Honey is a surprisingly valuable and versatile resource in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar. It is an essential ingredient in many recipes, can be a major source of income, and even plays a role in character requests and events. However, the ability to cultivate honey is not unlocked from the start and requires you to complete a specific, and easily missable, set of tasks.This guide will walk you through the entire process, from the initial unlock to harvesting and improving the quality of your honey.

A Comprehensive Guide to Unlocking and Cultivating Honey 

Step 1: The Initial Request

Your journey to getting honey begins with Arata, the industrious carpenter in Zephyr Town. Early in your first Spring playthrough, Arata will have a request for you titled "Prepping for Some Heavy Lifting." You must talk to him to accept this request; if you don't, you may miss the opportunity for a while.To complete the request, you need to provide him with two dishes, both at a minimum quality of 1-star:

• A 1-star Eggs Over Rice dish
• A 1-star Grilled Fish dish

Since all items in the game start at 0.5 stars, you cannot simply cook these dishes. You must first find the Happy Sprites and learn the mechanic of sharing items with them to increase their star quality. This process is essential for raising the quality of your fish and other ingredients to the 1-star level needed to fulfill Arata's request.

Step 2: Acquiring the Beekeeping Farm

After successfully completing Arata’s request, you must wait for the next Bazaar to take place. During the bazaar, Arata will set up a stall where he offers various upgrades for your farm, including the Beekeeping Farm.You can only purchase one upgrade from Arata at a time, as he can only work on one project during the week. Once you purchase the Beekeeping Farm upgrade, you will need to wait for him to finish the work.Once completed, a small plot will appear in the Mountains area. This is your new beekeeping farm, but it's not ready to produce honey just yet.

Step 3: Planting Flowers and Harvesting Honeycombs

The bee box on your new plot will be empty. To attract bees and start producing honeycombs, you must plant flowers on the plot. It is important to note that you cannot plant seeds here. Instead, you must plant fully-grown flowers that are currently in season.Simply place your flowers on the plot and wait. After three days, you will see a glowing sparkle on the bee box, indicating that it's ready to be harvested.The type of flowers you plant determines the type of honeycomb you receive:

• Common Honeycombs: These are produced from the common flowers that grow wild around the Mountains and Zephyr Town.
• Invigorating and Mellow Honeycombs: These higher-quality honeycombs are produced from flowers you have grown yourself on your farm.
• Royal Honeycombs: This is the rarest type of honeycomb and can be acquired as a rare variation from any type of flower.

Step 4: Processing Honeycombs into Honey

To turn your raw honeycombs into valuable honey, you'll need to use a windmill. First, you must unlock the Blue Windmill by completing the quest to find Isaac’s lost item.Once unlocked, take your honeycombs to the Blue Windmill. Here, you will find four different types of honey to process. While it takes time to process them, the final product is worth significantly more than the honeycombs themselves, making this a highly profitable endeavor.

Step 5: Improving Honey Quality

While planting higher-quality flowers will yield more honey, it will not improve the quality of the honey itself. To increase the star quality of your honey, you must interact with the Happy Sprite named Honey, who resides in the Mountains just north of your beekeeping farm. On some days, she may return to her home in Zephyr Town, so check your map to find her.To improve the quality of your honey, simply share honeycombs or processed honey with the Honey Sprite. Every four levels you raise her affection, the star quality of your honeycombs will increase.

• Tip: If you process your honeycombs into honey and then share the processed honey with her, you will gain more experience points, allowing you to increase the star quality of your honey more quickly.
