We invite you to discover How to open the stone cat door in Crypt Custodian, a new task in this busy game.

The stone cat door in The Edge is a hidden gem, accessible only after completing the main storyline. To unlock its secrets, you'll need to equip specific items. Unlike most puzzles in the game, there are few direct clues.

As you approach the door, you'll notice cat statues lining the area. Some of these statues will have glowing eyes, suggesting a connection to the puzzle. To solve it, experiment with different equipment combinations.

If you're struggling, try a unique approach. Unequipping all of your Upgrades might reveal a hidden clue. This unconventional strategy can often lead to unexpected discoveries. Remember, the solution to the stone cat door puzzle lies in careful observation and experimentation.

How to open the stone cat door in Crypt Custodian

To unlock the mysterious cat door hidden within Crypt Custodian, you must illuminate the eyes of all the statues. The floor pattern directly in front of the door mirrors the arrangement of your Upgrade list, which is organized in an eight-by-four grid. By equipping Upgrades in the corresponding statue locations, you'll activate their eyes, as visually demonstrated in the accompanying video.

To achieve this, you'll need to accumulate a total of 68 Upgrade Points. Additionally, you must possess all 16 essential Upgrades, including Bigger Buffer, which becomes available only after you've successfully completed the game. Below is a detailed list of the required Upgrades, categorized by row from left to right:

  • Row 1: Heart Capsule, Spirit Buffer, All Seeing Eye, Slime Scrapper
  • Row 2: Better Broom, Hopping Hazard, Quick Draw, Whirling Reaper
  • Row 3: Quick Foot, Flawless Bounty, Bigger Buffer, Hoarder's Reward
  • Row 4: Quick Block, Final Flurry, Steady Flurry, Super Slam

The majority of these Upgrades can be acquired by purchasing them at The Sinner's Inn or by discovering them hidden in various locations throughout your adventure.

Remember, the cat door's secrets await those who can successfully complete this challenging puzzle.

Additional Notes:

  • Heart Capsule: This Upgrade can be purchased for 3,200 Garbage at The Sinner's Inn. It restores a portion of your health.
  • Spirit Buffer: Another purchase from The Sinner's Inn, costing 900 Garbage. It increases your Spirit Gauge, which is used for special abilities.
  • All Seeing Eye: This Upgrade can be found in the Weeping Wastes, to the right of where Grizz is digging a path into the Palace. It enhances your vision, making it easier to spot hidden items and enemies.
  • Slime Scrapper: Purchased for 6,000 Garbage at The Sinner's Inn, this Upgrade is essential for clearing slime obstacles.
  • Better Broom: This Upgrade, costing 4,300 Garbage at The Sinner's Inn, improves the efficiency of your broom, making it easier to sweep away debris.
  • Hopping Hazard: Located in Pearl's Shrine, behind a gate in the middle of the area, this Upgrade can be accessed by using the dig ability. It increases your jumping distance and height.
  • Quick Draw: Found in Neon Crest, three rooms south of the shrine closest to Mira's Basement, this Upgrade speeds up your weapon draw time.
  • Whirling Reaper: This Upgrade can be obtained from a chest that requires you to kill a horde of enemies without taking damage in an eastern room of Sculptor's Peak. It allows you to perform a powerful spinning attack.
  • Quick Foot: Purchased for 2,600 Garbage at The Sinner's Inn, this Upgrade increases your movement speed.
  • Flawless Bounty: Located in Sculptor's Peak, two rooms east of the easternmost shrine, this Upgrade grants you a bonus for defeating enemies without taking damage.
  • Bigger Buffer: This Upgrade spawns in The Sinner's Inn after you defeat the game. It significantly increases your Spirit Gauge capacity.
  • Hoarder's Reward: Received from the giant Spirit Cat after rescuing five Spirits, this Upgrade increases the amount of Garbage you earn from enemies.
  • Quick Block: Located behind a puzzle gate in a room in between the two Frosty Ridge shrines, this Upgrade reduces the cooldown time of your block ability.
  • Final Flurry: Found in The Back, in the room west of the area's first shrine (accessible after defeating The Imposter and using the dirt-dig ability), this Upgrade allows you to perform a powerful final attack.
  • Steady Flurry: This Upgrade is rewarded for saving all 20 Cat Spirits. It increases the duration of your flurry attacks.
  • Super Slam: Located in a chest southeast of the west Frosty Ridge shrine, this Upgrade enhances the power of your ground slam attack.
