Discover effective strategies to stop a plague in Civilization 7.
The Plague is a devastating Crisis Event in Civilization 7 that can cripple your settlements and spread rapidly. This guide explains how to effectively cure the Plague and restore happiness to affected regions.
Understanding the Plague's Impact:
The Plague, often occurring in the Exploration Age, manifests as green smoke or clouds engulfing affected regions. Plagued settlements suffer from unrest, halting gold investment and production. Furthermore, any Commanders or military units stationed there will perish. The disease also has the potential to spread to neighboring regions, making swift action essential.
Civilization 7: How to stop a Plague
Curing the Plague:
The most reliable way to combat the Plague is by deploying a Physician to the afflicted settlement. Physicians, resembling real-life plague doctors with crow-beak masks and staffs, can be trained in Cities or purchased with gold in Towns.Once a Physician is available, send it to the plagued region. Upon arrival, select the Physician, open the unit options (bottom right corner), and choose the "Cure Settlements" action. Physicians have three charges of this action. Successful eradication of the Plague is indicated by the dissipating green smoke.
Restoring Happiness:
Curing the Plague is only the firststep. The affected region will remain in a state of unrest for a number of turns (indicated by a red fist icon and a number below it).Restoring happiness is crucial for returning the settlement to normalcy. There are three primary methods for achieving this:
Constructing Happiness Buildings: Build structures like Temples or Inns to boost happiness in the region.Military Presence:Replenish any lost military units and consider stationing additionalCommanders or military units in the region to improve security and boost morale.Resource Allocation: Sending specific resources to the target region can significantly increase happiness.- Cities: Cities can accept a wide range of resources.
- Towns: Towns are more limited and can only utilize resources designated asbonuses. Items like Horses and Pearls are commonly used to boosthappiness.
Step-by-Step Plague Management:
Identify Plagued Regions: Look for regions covered in green smoke or clouds.Train/Purchase Physician: Train a Physician in a City or purchase one in a Town.Deploy Physician: Send the Physician to the afflicted settlement.Cure Settlement: Use the Physician's "Cure Settlements" action to eradicate the Plague.Monitor Unrest: Observe the red fist icon and the number below it to track how many turns of unrest remain.Restore Happiness: Use a combination of building construction, military presence, and resource allocation to restore happiness.Prevent Spread: Be vigilant and address outbreaks promptly to prevent the Plague from spreading to other regions.
Key Strategies for Plague Prevention and Management:
- Early Detection: Pay close attention to your map for signs of the Plague. The faster you react, the less damage it will do.
- Physician Availability: Maintain a reserve of Physicians to quickly respond to outbreaks.
- Happiness Infrastructure: Invest in happiness-boosting buildings in your settlements to make them more resilient to unrest.
- Resource Management: Keep a stockpile of resources that can be used to improve happiness in affected regions.
- Strategic Military Deployment: Position military units strategically to protect vulnerable settlements and maintain order.
By understanding the Plague's mechanics and implementing these strategies, you can effectively manage this crisis event and safeguard yourcivilization in Civilization 7.
