In Brighter Shores, the player needs to fetch a fish named Fetid Flounder to continue the questline "The Lost Shipment." No details or location have been given for this task.

Players will more than likely be seen frantically searching different fishing areas throughout the world for the elusive Fetid Flounder. Due in large part to its rarity and the amount of grinding required to obtain it, it has become somewhat of a meme among the community.

Where to find Fetid Flounder in Brighter Shores?

For the Fetid Flounder, some of the early stages must be completed to the Lost Shipment quest at Brighter Shores. Discard your amour and then speak to Captain Shirker on the Vincible, that is the ship to the east of the map. Doing some missions will eventually get you at Hooked Hand.

You'll need to find the Fetid Flounder after speaking to a few of the people in town. Now, things get a little tricky.

You will want a Fishing Rank of 25. You have no other means of getting Fetid Flounder unless you can player trade, which isn't an option just yet, and you can't fish for Fetid Flounder until you are at level 25. Getting to level 25 in Fishing does take a bit of effort and could require around six to eight hours.

When you've attained that level, proceed to the Overground Pond area of the map. It is located north of the peach area, and it's surrounded by several tough mobs. There is only one pond, but it contains plenty of Pond Weeds. If you use Sense, the Fetid Flounder should be fairly easy to notice. If you go to this location prior to the mission activating, as mentioned above, you will not find any Fetid Flounder, since the fish does not spawn until the quest activates.

Fetid flounder in Brighter Shores: what to do with them?

Head back to the Town Square and head west, down Brannof Boulevard, with your Fetid Flounder. When you enter Brannof's room, you will be greeted by a deck with paper, ink and quill upon it. Then, open up your quest inventory and pick up both those things.

Using the Plumbatae, the main quest item, write an order which you can then use on the Fetid Flounder. Then take it, and some coin, to the Fishmonger at the Frequently Fresh Fish Stall, north of Town Square, past Eel Street. From there the quest will continue as normal.
