How to complete the Paint it Black challenge in BitLife

One of BitLife's most challenging and specific quests, the "Paint it Black" challenge, has officially launched. Although its objectives seem simple at first glance, they require a deep understanding of the game's social and career mechanics. This guide will walk you through each of the five objectives, providing the best strategies to complete them and claim your reward.

BitLife: complete the Paint it Black challenge

To successfully complete the "Paint it Black" challenge, your character must achieve the following:

Be born a female in France.

Become a painter.

Have a pet turtle named Francois.

Argue with your father.

Mourn the death of your brother.

You will not need any special career packs or expansions for this challenge, but a specific character setup is crucial to success.

Step-by-Step Guide to Completing the Challenge

1. Be Born a Female in France

The first step is a non-negotiable character creation task. When starting a new life,select "female" as your gender and "France" as your birth country. Thespecific city within France does not matter.

For this challenge,your starting family is paramount. You need a father and at least onebrother (older or younger) who will be in your life long enough tocomplete two of the objectives. It is a good strategy to check your"Relationships" tab early in your character's life to ensure you havethis family structure. If not, it may be more efficient to restart thelife until you get the right family.

2. Become a Painter

Once your character turns 18 and finishes high school, it's time to find a job.

Navigate to the "Occupations" tab and look at the list of full-time jobs.

Scroll through the listings until you find a role with a paint palette emojinext to it. This will be either "Painter" or "Apprentice Painter."

If the job doesn't appear, you can either age up a year and check again or close and reopen the BitLife app to refresh the job listings.

Fortunately, becoming a painter does not require a post-secondary degree, thoughhaving a high smarts stat and an art background can make the job morelikely to appear. Once you find the job, apply and pass the interview to secure the role.

3. Have a Pet Turtle Named Francois

With a steady income as a painter, this task is relatively straightforward.

Go to the "Activities" tab, then "Pets," and select "Pet Store."

Scroll through the available animals to find a turtle.

If a turtle is not available, you can either age up a year or restart the app to refresh the pet store's inventory.

Turtles are typically inexpensive, so you should be able to afford one after a year or two of work.

Once you purchase the turtle, the game will prompt you to name it. Be sure to name it Francois to fulfill the objective.

4. Argue with Your Father

Arguing with your father can be a bit tricky, as it relies on a specificinteraction. Simply talking to him may not be enough to trigger a fight. The most reliable method is to deliberately upset him.

Go to the "Relationships" tab and select your father's profile.

Choose the "Gifts" option and give him items he is likely to dislike. This can include things like lumps of coal, anti-aging cream, or dead flowers.

Repeatedly giving him these unpleasant gifts will significantly increase the chances of him initiating an argument.

Once the argument starts, you must choose to "Argue back" or a similar confrontational option to complete this objective.

5. Mourn the Death of Your Brother

This is often the most time-consuming or dramatic part of the challenge. You need to outlive your brother and then mourn his passing. There are twomain ways to accomplish this:

• Patience is a Virtue: The most straightforward, but slowest, method is to simply age uprepeatedly until your brother passes away from old age, illness, or anaccident. This is more likely to happen if he is significantly olderthan your character or develops a serious health condition.
• A Darker, Faster Path: For players who prefer to complete the challenge quickly, you can "end things" prematurely.
  • If you own the Assassin's Blade item, you can choose to do this without facing legal repercussions.
  • Alternatively, you can choose to attack him through the "Crime" menu. This methodcarries a risk of getting caught by the police, which could lead to jail time. If you do get caught, you must deal with the legal consequencesbefore you can mourn his death.

After yourbrother's death, you will receive a notification and can then choose to"Mourn" his death from his profile in the "Relationships" tab.

Once all five of these objectives have been completed, you will finish the"Paint it Black" challenge and be rewarded with a mystery cosmetic prize box.
