You can learn skills by releasing the arms from their colored pots as you adventure through the world, and there are skills learned from the upgrade skill tree system in the main menu.

• The medium jar gives two skill points.

• The large vial gives three points

These vials are basically single-use skill points, which you can get your hands on as you progress through the levels > when you find them, you'll have to open them to acquire them, after which you can upgrade Physiology of Combat, one of the two skill trees available. You can also hold on to it and wait for one of the other skill trees to open.

You will be able to use the flask after selecting the tree you want > then you will have to select a path.
