Where to Find the Earthly Aegis Treasure in Avowed
Avowed's sprawling world is filled with secrets and hidden treasures, and the "Treasure Map – Earthly Aegis" side quest in the Emerald Stair region is a prime example. While some treasure hunts can be frustratingly cryptic, this one presents a deceptively simple puzzle. This guide provides a detailed walkthrough to locate the treasure map, solve the puzzle, and claim the powerful Nature's Ward shield.
The journey begins in the Emerald Stair, the second major region of the Living Lands. Specifically, you'll need to venture into the Naku Tedek Grounds. A convenient starting point is the Naku Tedek Party Camp, which serves as a fast-travel location.
From the camp, head towards the front of the Naku Tedek Temple. You should see a Priestess of Berath near a collection of animancy equipment. To her right, just beyond some blue mushrooms, is a pickable plant. Jump over the railing near this plant to find yourself on the side of the temple.
Follow the path along the temple's side until you reach a small shrine and a wood-fired stove on the right. Continue past the stove, and you'll encounter a large tree branch extending towards a wall with a hole. Jump through this opening. Inside this small, hidden area, you'll find a chest containing the Earthly Aegis treasure map.
With the map in hand, your next destination is the Plateau Junction Beacon. This beacon is located south of the Grim Wetlands and the Sunken Village, in the northwest corner of the Emerald Stair.
From the beacon, head south up the hill. As you ascend, a ruined tower will come into view on your left, perched along the cliff's edge. Proceed past the tower, then circle around to the back, keeping on the same side as the railing. At the rear of the tower, you'll find a large root protruding from the cliff. Carefully walk along this root; it will lead you to the back side of the tower.
At the end of the root, you'll reach a section of the wall that is open, but obscured by vines and roots. This is where the puzzle lies. Carefully examine the right side of the entrance wall. Concealed amongst the roots, you'll find a small, easily missed button. Its location can be particularly challenging to spot in the dark, so refer to the provided image for the precise spot.
Once you've located and pressed the hidden switch, return to the front of the ruined tower. You'll now find that a doorway has opened, granting you access to the tower's interior.
Inside the tower, you'll discover a sarcophagus. Interacting with it will reward you with the Nature's Ward shield.

Embarking on the Quest: Locating the Earthly Aegis Treasure Map
