  • Yield: Salvaging a Briefcase provides four Leather Scrap and one Metal Scrap.

    • Office Sector Level Two: Typically located near the Data Farm, behind a security door that requires a Tier Two Keypad Hacker to bypass.
    • The Train Portal World: Scattered throughout the cars, often found on seats or within compartments.
    • Cascade Laboratories Level Two: Inside an office room near the characters Janet and Abe, located in the upper lobby. Specifically, it's in the containment area upstairs by the tram station, often found near office armchairs.
    • Cascade Laboratories Level Three: Tucked under a desk in the Adjustment Wing, close to where Katherine Pendleton is located.
    • Hydroplant Waterfall Apartments: In the very room where you discover the Voidpack recipe.
    • Voussoir: Specifically found within the first building you enter in this area.
  • Tip: If you have access to the Auto-Salvager (an upgrade for your base or a specific crafting station), it can quickly process full stacks of junk, including Briefcases or other salvagable items, freeing up inventory space instantly without consuming crafting XP.
• Radio Pack
  • Source: Radio Packs are an occasional drop from Captains, who serve as field officers for the Order faction.

  • Source: The elusive Lab Rat is a unique source of Leather Scrap within laboratory sectors. These neutral Order enemies roam office areas once you've progressed far enough in the game. They emit a radiation cloud and attempt to flee when spotted.
  • Specific Defeat Method for Drops: To ensure a Rat Suit or Rat Pack drop from a Lab Rat, you must follow a specific combat sequence:
  • Stun Them: First, stun the Lab Rat by using a Net Launcher. (A Net Launcher can be crafted by combining Rebar, Staplers, Rubber Bands, and Plastic Scrap at a Crafting Bench.)
  • Finish with Blunt Weapon: While the Lab Rat is netted (stunned), finish them off with a blunt weapon (such as a mallet or hammer).
  • Avoid Certain Damage Types: Crucially, avoid using weapons that deal fire or shock damage, as these can prevent the Rat Suit or Rat Pack from dropping.
  • Yield: Once defeated using this method, the Lab Rat will drop a Rat Pack. Additionally, Lab Rats sometimes directly drop Rat Suits. Both Rat Packs and Rat Suits can be salvaged at a Repair and Salvage Station, with a Rat Pack yielding one to three Leather Scrap. While both sources involve a degree of RNG for the drop, using the thermal mallet/net combo significantly increases your chances.
• Chieftain Pack
  • Source: Gatekeeper Chieftains are elite Order enemies.
  • Chieftain Locations: They are primarily found in Reactor and Shadowgate sectors.
  • Identification: Easily recognized by their distinctive skull helmets, handgun usage, and aggressive melee moves.
  • Combat Tips (Chieftains): To defeat them safely, utilize cover, effectively dodge their attacks, and hit them with blunt or piercing weapons during their reload animations.
  • Yield: Chieftains consistently drop a Chieftain Pack when killed. This special backpack can be salvaged at a Repair and Salvage Station into three Leather Scrap and three Metal Scrap. Farming Gatekeeper Chieftains is an excellent endgame method to consistently secure Leather Scrap.

2. Butchering Specific Creatures

One specific creature, when properly butchered, also yields Leather Scrap.

• Sow Peccary
  • Source: Sow Peccaries are aggressive Anteverse II creatures.
  • Locations: They patrol areas such as the Wildlife Pens on the second floor of Cascade Laboratories.
    • You'll find one Sow alongside an Exor next to the Viewing Platform door in the Adjustment Wing, above the pens, near a tall room with specimencontainers (note: zombies may appear here later if you've completed theFurniture Store quest).
    • Another Sow Peccary waits with an Armored Exor in a garage beyond the dam area of the Hydroplant.
  • Combat Tips (Sow Peccary):
    • Shield Strategy: Equip a shield (even a makeshift plastic tray will work) and carry blunt weapons (like table or chair legs). Raise your shield to block its two-jumpattack pattern. After it finishes, approach and strike its head tostagger it, allowing for multiple safe hits without taking damage.
    • Sidestep Charge: You can also sidestep its sparkly charge attack to avoid serious harm.
    • Net Launcher Alternative: Alternatively, stun it with a Net Launcher before landing several headshots with a blunt weapon.
  • Butchering Yield: When defeated, butcher the Sow with a knife. A Raw Peccary Chop is always dropped, and you have a roughly 50 percent chance of obtaining Leather Scraps (along with Milk Sac and Sow Skull in various quantities).

How To Use A Repair And Salvage Station To Get Leather Scrap

The Repair and Salvage Station is your central hub for processing items into raw materials like Leather Scrap.

• Crafting the Station: To build a Repair and Salvage Station, you will need the following materials:
  • 6x Duct Tape
  • 2x Coils
  • 1x Anvil
  • 2x Metal Pipes
  • You'll also need access to a Crafting Bench to construct it.
