How To Get Bombs In Wind Waker

Before you can even think about upgrading your Bomb Bag, you first need to acquire the essential item itself. The default Bomb Bag holds up to 30 Bombs.

Story Progression Prerequisite: Link will not be able to use Bombs until he has completed the Forbidden Woods dungeon and is subsequently tasked with finding Jabun to retrieve the third Goddess Orb.

Return to Windfall Island: As part of this quest, you will return to Windfall Island.

Infiltrate the Bomb Shop: Sneak into the rear entrance of the Bomb Shop. This entrance is accessible via a secret path on the west side of the building. Inside, you'll eavesdrop on a group of pirates as they rob the merchant.

• Accessing the Great Fairy Fountain: Sail to this location. You'll find a Great Fairy Fountain entrance at the mouth of a large shell. This entrance is blocked by a large boulder.
• Entry Method: Place a Bomb at the base of the boulder to blow it up, clearing your way inside.
• Obtaining the Upgrade: Enter the Fairy Fountain and speak to the Great Fairy residing within. She will generously grant you the Bigger Bomb Bag, which allows you to carry up to 60 total Bombs—double the capacity of your default bag.
• Bonus Tip for Fairy Fountains: Whenever you visit a Great Fairy Fountain, always ensure you have at least one empty Bottle in your inventory. Wind Waker Biggest Bomb Bag Location

The second and final Bomb Bag upgrade will bring your Bomb capacity to itsmaximum, equipping you for any explosive challenge. The Biggest Bomb Bag holds up to 99 Bombs.

• Location: The second Bomb Bag upgrade is located a bit further from Windfall Island, at Southern Fairy Island. This island is found in map square D-6, precisely five squares directly south of Windfall Island.
• Fast Travel Option: If you have already learned the Ballad of Gales, you can play this song to teleport directly to map square D-6, significantly cutting down on travel time.
• Accessing the Great Fairy Fountain: You will find another Great Fairy Fountain within a large shell on this island. However, like the previous one, its entrance is blocked.
• Entry Method: This time, the way in is blocked by wooden boards. You have two options to clear it:
  • Place a Bomb down near the boards to destroy them.
  • Alternatively, if you have already unlocked them, you can fire a Fire Arrow to burn the wood away from a safe distance.
• Obtaining the Upgrade: Enter the Great Fairy Fountain and speak to the Great Fairy inside. She will bestow upon you the Biggest Bomb Bag, allowing you to carry a massive 99 Bombs—more than three times the amount of the default bag, ensuring you'll rarely run out of explosives when you need them most.
