Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, the
Burn status effect is a dangerous ailment that can quickly deplete your health if left unchecked. It's a crucial debuff to understand and manage, especially when facing enemies and bosses that use fire-based attacks.
What Does Burn Do?
Burn is a persistent and brutal status effect that can be inflicted by fire-based attacks from both enemies and the environment.
- Damage over Time: Once the Burn status is fully active, your character will lose health every second. This effect lasts for a set duration or until it is removed.
- Increased Damage: In addition to the damage over time, the Burn status also makes you take increased damage from all other sources. This makes you extremely vulnerable, especially if an enemy's powerful attack lands while you are on fire.
- Visual and Audio Cues: You'll know Burn is building up when a red sinogram appears on your screen. Once the effect is fully applied, Wuchang's body will visibly be on fire.
How to Remove Burn in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
There are two main consumable items that help you deal with the Burn status effect: Fire Lotus Seeds and Flameward Pills. You can carry up to five of each, and they will automatically restock from your storage at a Shrine.
1. Fire Lotus Seed
- Function: The Fire Lotus Seed is a direct cure. It instantly removes the active Burn status and also helps to clear any ongoing Burn buildup.
- Best Use: This is the best item to use when you are already afflicted with theBurn status and are losing health. Using it quickly is essential toprevent a rapid decline in your health.
- How to Get: Fire Lotus Seeds can be found as random loot drops throughout the game's world. You can also purchase them from the vendor Wu Gang for 160 Red Mercury each.
2. Flameward Pill
- Function: The Flameward Pill is a preventative measure. It provides a temporary buff that reduces the damage you take from fire attacks and slows down the Burn status buildup.
- Best Use: This item is best used before or during a fight against a fire-based enemy or boss. By using itproactively, you can make it much harder for the enemy to inflict theBurn status on you in the first place, or at least minimize the damageif they do.
- How to Get: Flameward Pills are a rarer drop from enemies and loot chests compared to Fire Lotus Seeds. They can also be purchased from Wu Gang for 10 Red Mercury each.
A Note on Wu Gang
Wu Gang is a key vendor who moves to new locations as you progress through the main story. His inventory, including these consumables, alsoexpands. You first meet him at the Lightzen Temple and he later moves to the Shu Sanctum and then the Refugee Camp. Make sure to visit him regularly to stock up on these essential items.
