Among the numerous Companions to romance in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is Cassia Orsellio. She has one of the most captivating romance arcs in any role-playing game and is also a potent Navigator who happens to be the respected heiress of House Orsellio.

Once you complete the Secrets of the Navis Nobilite quest, itself an extension of the Looking for Trouble quest in Chapter One of Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, Cassia will become available to join your crew. You'll be able to convince Cassia to join your Voidship by whatever means, and she'll be the first Companion you'll do so. Of course, if you want, you can also romance Cassia.

How to romance Cassia in Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader



To romance Cassia you have to be a male Rogue Trader. Yes, Cassia is one of these genders, but she isn't the only one amongst Companions. So, if you are a female Rogue Trader, stop thinking about courting her.


You'll actually swoop in for the kill after having completed the above mission and having acted out the scene where you talk about some sort of ritual with Cassia. Once you've gained access to the deck of the Voidship, Cassia can be found by heading south from your starting position on the map.


Select the following responses when you start talking to Cassia:

  • I'd like to hear about you.
  • "Sorry, Cassia, but I'm more interested in getting to know you than in your family."
  • "Do you ever cover up your third eye?"
  • Cassia, you are beautiful. Never let anyone or anything make you think otherwise.
  • "No woman deserves to be pursued if one is going to play with her feelings, and that would include the one who has put a spell on you since the very first day we saw her."
  • To get back to the first set of options, follow the "Why don't we talk about something else?" dialogue option. From there, select "Let's talk about us, shall we?"

And there you have it, Cassia is now yours. You can finally say you're in a romantic relationship with her.

The smooth style of Cassia's romance


As an RPG, Cassia's romance plotline is unusually light and may even surprise Warhammer 40,000 gamers. I did find the benignness and tenderness involved in the courting to be somewhat surprising and unexpected. The dialogues most certainly have more risqué content when Kibellah is a Rogue Trader Companion. Keep in mind you do forfeit Kibellah if you pursue her to where she wants to go "somewhere private"—a phrase everyone knows what means.


For her part, Cassia is not all that aromatic. Indeed, the naively charming Cassia—at least, at those times when she's behaving like a schoolgirl with a crush—is a good deal more attractive than most of her Companions, few of whom share her natural sweetness.


It is especially in those passages describing Cassia's reactions that some of the most breathtaking passages of this branching story are to be found. Her very Cassia-like way of showing emotions through words, and the fact that she's so nervous around the player character-it almost makes him even more attractive to her. It's pretty clear that Warhammer 40,000 writers had a field day trying to imagine her personality. Adoring fans actually nicknamed her "Cass," and with very good reason-she is one of the most interesting Companions to romance.
