One sought-after customization option is the signature racewear, a unique outfit for each character that becomes available after reaching a certain progression milestone.

Umamusume: How To Unlock Signature Racewear

Unlocking a character's signature racewear requires you to reach 3 Stars with that specific Umamusume. This is an individual progression system, meaning you'll need to complete the necessary steps for each character separately.Here's a breakdown of the process:1. Acquiring Characters and Star Pieces:

• Scouting (Gacha): You primarily obtain new Umamusume characters through the "Scout" feature on your homepage. Characters you scout will have a starting star rarity, typically ranging from 1-star and above. (For detailed probability prospects, you can refer to in-game scout guides or external resources like a "Pretty Derby Scout Guide").
• Duplicate Horse Girls: A key component for star progression is obtaining Star Pieces. You receive Star Pieces as compensation when you draw a duplicate horse girl through scouting. The number of Star Pieces you receive depends on the star rarity of the duplicate character.
  • For example, if you pull a duplicate of a 1-star Umamusume, you'll receive a certain amount of Star Pieces for that character. If you pull a duplicate of a 3-star Umamusume, you'll receive more. These duplicate pulls automatically convert into "Goddess Statues," which can then be exchanged in the game shop for Star Pieces specific to that Umamusume.
• Other Ways to Get Star Pieces: While duplicates are the primary method, you can also acquire Star Pieces through:
  • Legend Races: Limited-time event races where winning can reward Star Pieces for the featured Umamusume.
  • Daily Shop Deals: Star Pieces sometimes appear for purchase with Monies after completing non-career races.
  • Friend Point Exchange: Trade Friend Points (earned from Team Trials or lending Support Cards) for Star Pieces in the Friend Shop.
  • Club Point Exchange: Earn Club Points by donating items to your Club or borrowing Legacy Umamusume, which can then be exchanged for Star Pieces in the Club Shop.

2. Star Unlocks in Umamusume Pretty Derby (Upgrading Stars): Once you have accumulated the required Star Pieces for a specific Umamusume, you can use them to upgrade her star rating.

• Star Piece Requirements:
  • To go from 1-star to 2-star: 50 Star Pieces (for that specific character)
  • To go from 2-star to 3-star: 150 Star Pieces (for that specific character)
  • Note: Characters cannot skip star levels; you must unlock each tier sequentially. Reaching 3-stars is the critical milestone for signature racewear.

Steps to Upgrade Stars:

From the home screen, click on the 'Enhance' tab.

Select 'Trainee'.

Choose the 'Star Unlock' option.

Select any of your 1-starred or 2-starred characters you wish to upgrade.

Click on the 'Star Unlock' button.

You will see a meter displaying your current Star Pieces versus the required amount. If you have enough, click on 'Star Unlock' again until your character reaches 3-stars. This action will simultaneously unlock their Signature Racewear.

How to Equip Signature Racewear

Once your Umamusume reaches 3 Stars and her Signature Racewear is unlocked, you can equip it by following these simple steps:

From the home screen, click on the 'Enhance' tab at the bottom left.

Click on the 'Trainee' button.

Click on the 'Trainee' button once more on the subsequent screen to view your list of unlocked Umamusume.

Select any of your 3-starred characters (the ones who now have their signature racewear unlocked).

Click on the 'green book' icon located beside the character’s avatar.

You will then see a 'Cloth' icon positioned near the character’s leg. Click on this icon.

Now, select the third attire option. This particular attire will be the unique, signature racewear specific to that character.

Click back to confirm your selection, and this new attire will be equipped for your Umamusume.

Unlocking signature racewear not only provides a unique aesthetic but also oftensignifies a significant power boost for your horse girl, making themmore formidable in races and a proud addition to your roster.
