Pawel will give you the mission to plant a Colossal Seed as soon as you build the first farming settlement on Amani Island. There are a few factors to think about before doing this, but the result will be a new ecology.

  • Ideally, it would be located far from your hometown.
  • The Colossal Seed can be accessed through your inventory; to use it, just click on it. To help you determine how far the seed needs to grow before it can be used, a red outline will be provided for the planting area.
  • Each Colossal Seed has the potential to produce a unique environment.
  • Variegated biomes, including tropical and temperate varieties, can be obtained from seeds. See what the seed has to offer by looking at it before you plant it. Keep in mind that there are certain conditions under which an ecosystem can flourish. Take Amani Island as an example; it appears that only there are temperate habitats.

When developing a new biome, these are the two most important components. Thankfully, the game clearly shows you what you're receiving and how to build these new territories.

Advice for Building an Ideal Ecosystem


While experimenting with Colossal Seeds, we came up with a few strategies to enhance your ecology and streamline the upgrading procedure. A few pointers to get you rolling:

  • Keep an eye out for any signs of wildlife.
  • In order to improve an ecosystem, it is necessary to feed the animals that live there. Almost no species grew from the Temperate Colossal Seed when we initially planted it in a nook of Amani Island. You need some wildlife in your biome if you want to improve it. Keep an eye on them to find out which snacks they like best.
  • Construct far from any town or hamlet you may have, but avoid building in inaccessible terrain.
  • We made the rookie error of establishing an ecosystem on a cliffside viewing the ocean for aesthetic reasons. It didn't take long for us to figure out that the ground was uneven, which made some things more difficult to plant, like seeds, and simply reaching some supplies was a hassle. If you want to build a biome, you should look for a level surface.
  • You should not be scared to cut down the trees you have just planted.
  • New seeds sprout on the tree in the center biome; just in case you missed the message, the game tells you this. For example, in the temperate biome, you can climb resin trees, which drop resin, and plant a couple of these saplings to create new trees that will most likely contain minerals that are peculiar to that habitat.

In order to enhance a biome, you'll need to plant a lot of seeds, thus it's important to return to it often. Plus, it's comforting to know that certain trees will continue to flourish even as you venture out into the world. Plant growth, island exploration, material gathering, item construction, and subsequent adventure embarkation can be neatly nested. Once you start, it's hard to stop.
