The first thing you need to know is that in the game, weapons have an Omnium charge indicator. This gradually fills up around the weapons you don't have equipped and when it finally fills up, you will be able to execute the discharge attack by switching to a different weapon.

When you have advanced to a certain point in the game, you will be able to obtain three new weapons, which will be automatically equipped in the three weapon slots. In order to activate them you will have to press Q, R and E on PC.

When you attack enemies the Omnium indicator of your unequipped weapons will fill up and when it finally fills up, you will be able to execute a powerful attack or a blast attack with Phantasia.
