How to Get Remnants in Titan Quest 2

In Titan Quest 2, Remnants are a powerful new mechanic that lets players farm high-tier gear by repeatedly challenging bosses. Unlike the first game, where rare drops relied solely on luck, this system gives players more control over their loot grind.

How to Get Remnants in Titan Quest 2

Every time you defeat a boss, it drops a Remnant—a special red-labeled item. These can be taken to the Altar of the Gods (currently located in Pyrgos Village) to unlock Rituals of Ares for that boss.

Using Remnants to Summon Bosses

Visit the Altar of the Gods – Present your Remnant to activate the boss’s ritual.

Return to the Boss Location – A Memory Knot (a glowing pillar) will appear where you first defeated the boss.

Summon the Boss – Interact with the Memory Knot and pay Gold to respawn the enemy.

Pro Tip: The summoning cost is low compared to the value of the loot, making this a highly efficient farming method.

Best Bosses to Farm for Legendary Gear

Currently, four bosses can be challenged via the Remnant system:

• Hyppokampos
• Aristomenes
• Pan
• Dysepilogos

Each has a chance to drop Unique (Purple) and Legendary items, essential for optimizing character builds.

Does Increasing Difficulty Affect Boss Drops?

Using the Altar of the Gods, you can raise enemy levels for better rewards. However, this currently does not increase boss difficulty—possibly a bug that may be patched later.

Future of the Remnant System

Since Titan Quest 2 is still in Early Access (with a full release expected in 2026), more bosses and mechanics maybe added. For now, farming Remnants is one of the best ways to prepare for endgame content.
