How to plan and host a Funeral in The Sims 4

A Sim's demise is the first order of business. The next step in organizing the funeral is to select the urn. As long as their urn is close by, the Sim who has passed away doesn't need to be a member of the household or even friends with your Sim.

By picking a date and then adding a funeral event, you can also arrange for a funeral to be held using the calendar.

Like other events in The Sims 4, such as birthday parties and weddings, a popup will appear to help you arrange the event. You get to decide on the dress code, invitees, and even mourners.

One of the other options allows you to select the funeral-related tasks you need to do, such as writing eulogies or making toasts. Three things are required. You can select a cemetery or other public place, such as a park, as the funeral's venue on the second tab.

How to Throw a Funeral

On the day of the burial, guests will gather at the site you've chosen and start the customary rituals. To host a good funeral, you'll need to finish all the activities you've chosen, depending on what you've planned.

However, there are additional activities indicated in the top left, underneath the remaining time for the event, that can be completed to get greater badges for funerals. Even while Life and Death introduces some new activities, this is still quite similar to how the game's existing events work.

You have the option to grieve at the Sim's coffin, deliver a eulogy from the platform, burn candles in their honor, and communicate with their loved ones to express your sorrow.

Even after the funeral has ended, you can visit the Sim's cemetery (or urn, if you like to keep them there) to grieve. If the Sim's spirit is haunting you after death, you have the option to release it from the Netherworld and let it go on. Having said that, interacting with them as a ghost will no longer be possible. You have the right to grieve for them whether or not they are a ghost.
