There are currently 17 ways Sims can meet their end in The Sims 2. Here’s a detailed guide on how to trigger each type of death, along with the required expansion packs:
Coffin Scare (The Sims 2: Nightlife)- Prerequisite: A sleeping vampire.
- How to: Click on a coffin while a vampire is sleeping inside and select the ‘Peek At’ interaction. Your Sim must have low needs to trigger a death.
Cowplant (The Sims 2: University)- Prerequisite: Level 6 of the Natural Science career.
- How to: Obtain the Cowplant reward, grow the plant, and wait for it to get hungry. When it offers a slice of cake from its mouth, have your Sim eat it.
Disease (The Sims 2)- Prerequisite: SimSanto Inc. Biotech Station (level 6 Science career).
- How to: Use the Biotech Station in a bad mood for a chance to produce a virus. Low Logic skill increases the odds. Sims can also die from untreated illnesses like Food Poisoning, Pneumonia, or the flu after 10 in-game days.
Drowning (The Sims 2)- How to: Command a Sim to swim, then remove the pool ladders. They will drown once their energy is low enough. Remain on the lot throughout the process.
Electrocution (The Sims 2)- How to: Have a Sim attempt to fix broken electronics. Death is more likely if the Sim stands in water or has a low Mechanical skill.
Fire (The Sims 2)- How to: Start a fire by lighting a fireplace near furniture, leaving food on a hob, or using an indoor grill. Ensure the fire isn’t extinguished by Sims or firemen.
Flies (The Sims 2)- How to: Leave piles of trash around the house and avoid cleaning. Wait for the flies to swarm.
Fright (The Sims 2)- How to: Have a Sim observe a ghost. Increase chances by having low needs and positioning them close to the ghost.
Hail (The Sims 2: Seasons)- How to: Have a Sim stay outside during a hailstorm with at least 4 needs below 50%.
Lightning (The Sims 2: Seasons)- How to: Have a Sim with low needs stand outside during a thunderstorm. Remove trees or lightning rods from the lot to increase chances. Using a Kite during a storm also helps.
Murphy Bed (The Sims 2: Apartment Life)- How to: Open and close a Murphy bed repeatedly. Increase odds by having low needs and a low Body Skill.
Old Age (The Sims 2)- How to: Simply wait for your Elder Sim to reach the end of their lifespan. You can speed this up with cheats.
Rally Forth (The Sims 2: Open For Business)- How to: Have a Sim with low needs perform the ‘Rally Forth’ social interaction (a Business Perk Point under ‘Motivation’).
Satellite (The Sims 2)- How to: Command your Sim to ‘Stargaze’ or ‘Watch Clouds’. There’s a slim chance a satellite may fall on them. Retry the interaction if necessary.
Starvation (The Sims 2)- How to: Build a wall or fence around a Sim without an exit. Speed up time and remain on the lot to see their hunger decay.
Sunlight (The Sims 2: Nightlife)- How to: Have a vampire Sim stay outside during the daytime.
Wishing Well (The Sims 2)- How to: Have a Sim with low needs wish for money at a Wishing Well repeatedly until it backfires.
