In the first Descendants, you'll get plenty of Descendants to help you on your journey through the game by crafting or purchasing them. Once you have a large enough collection, it can be difficult to switch between them.

How to change character in The First Descendant?

Once you have enough Scions, you'll be able to switch between them via the in-game menu. To do this on your computer, simply:

Press the I button to open the Inventory tab.
Then click on the Descendants tab next to it to open a menu showing your list of characters.
Press G on this screen or select "View Descendants" at the bottom of the screen.
A list of Descendants will open.
You can then choose between them and select "Use" to instantly switch to the desired character.
This works the same on Xbox and PlayStation. To switch Descendants, click the Options button to open the in-game menu.
Now press the left or right shoulder button on the Xbox controller or the L1 or R1 button on the PlayStation controller to go to the Descendants tab.
Now press the Up button on the D-pad to open the list of descendants, scroll to the ones you want and press Used to jump to them.

You cannot switch characters during missions or combat. You can only switch characters outside of missions in the hub area. This information is based on the most recent technical testing and may change once the full game is released.
