In Super Mario 64 you will find a star that is only misleading because it is behind many walls, but once you know what you are looking for, it is actually a very easy power star to get.The wall you want to break is near the stage entrance. Climb up the gray wall when you get to it and head to the watery area and when you are on the ship walk to the left area.
You'll see a pink Bob-omb and a now active cannon next to it. Dive into the canyon and turn it to the right. You should see two walls with a chain of coins scattered between them. You want to aim for the upper right corner of the wall farthest from you. Destroy that wall (remember to aim for the corner) and you will reveal a star.
Now you just have to go up there, walk around the sleeping piranha plants through the collapsing block bridge and then grab the star! and ready!
