How to Use a Hoe

You will receive your basic hoe on your second day in Zephyr Town. It is your primary tool for preparing the soil for crops.

• Tilling Farmland: Go to your farm area and use the hoe to till the soil. Tilling is required before you can plant any seeds.3 Each use of the hoe consumes a small amount of stamina, which makes upgrading the tool later a priority.
• Digging Up Mounds: Throughout Zephyr Town, you will find small, marked mounds of dirt. Tilling these mounds with your hoe will reveal various items, including ores, treasures, and even medals. This is a great way to find valuable resources early in the game.

The Hoe Upgrade Path

Unlike other games in the series, upgrading your tools in Grand Bazaar is done at the windmills. You must process your current tool with the required materials to get thenext tier. The Red Windmill handles the initial upgrades, while the Blue Windmill is used for more advanced ones.
