Where to find Vaeric in Starfield Conflict in Conviction

Vaeric is a major character involved with the power grid questline, but House Veth'aal needs your help to find him. He's on the giant planet of Va'ruun'kai, and finding him won't be easy. But there are a few methods to track him down.

Where to Find Vaeric in Starfield Conflict in Conviction


Vaeric hangs out in the Herald's Rest, which you'll be heading to as part of the first portion of the Conflict in Conviction quest. He'll reward you for tracking down Egbo Kazmi on his behalf. It won't take Tane too terribly long to arrive at the bar, so just be a bit patient. He appeared, and I rewarded him with 1,000 Credits and asked him to join us on our expedition. To get to it, just follow the pathways until an Abandoned Camp in the northwest region of Dazra pops up.

Investigate the Base


In order to investigate the camp in Starfield Conflict: Conviction, you will need to find the following items:
  • Vaeric's Camp Journal: On the bedside
  • Footprints: Wheel barrel marking the location of the excavation
  • Vortex Emerge: A Vortex enemy component at the excavation location

Bloodstains - On a tent underneath, on a boulder.



These should be relatively easy to find as the camp will be small in size. Once you have all of them, a set of enemies called Foul Vortex Horror spawn. You'll then have to attempt to survive that ambush to progress through the quest.


After defeating all the enemies, track down the location of Vaeric by following the mission waypoint. Move further along this waypoint until you are able to see Irina's Farm. Irina says that Vaeric has headed out towards Apostate's Farm, a deserted farm, and is not too far away. Now that you've reconnoitered your immediate surroundings, you should be able to track him rather easily.

Check the house


  • In the house, go directly left to find Vaeric's computer. To learn about his movements, read each log.
  • Go upstairs to retrieve Vaeric's Log, which is sitting on the table beside the sofa.
  • With both items in your inventory now, go back outside to Tane. Vaeric will suddenly show up.

Spare Vaeric's life, or kill him?


When Vaeric comes before you, he will try to justify his betrayal. He will explain that he wished to live a life independent of House Veth'aal, and that your father forbade him from doing so. You will be given options to attack him, let him go, or persuade him to return to the house. Once you release him, you will be allowed to take his Signet Ring and demand 10,000 Credits. Wearing the ring will make Vaeric's dad think he's dead.


Another way of pleasing House Veth'aal is killing him and Tane, along with freeing Vaeric. This second option goes to the same place as the first one, but this time you won't have to lie to his dad.


Convinced Vaeric to go back to his house and all will be happy. Eventually, Vaeric will overcome his initial reluctance and reflect on family and House. Even his father will forgive him and accept him back upon his return. Of the three options above, the best ending would be to spare Vaeric and convince him to go back to House Veth'aal. Nobody will be disappointed with this option, and you'll still receive 6,600 Credits for your job.
