Unlock How to Get Resources from Asteroids in Starfield. Get tips, strategies, and resources to boost your space exploration efforts. Welcome to Starfield! In this guide, we'll show you how to efficiently mine and extract valuable minerals from asteroid belts. By following these steps, you'll be able to gather resources for your interstellar adventures. So let's get started!

 Locating Asteroid Belts

Asteroid belts can be found near certain planets and their moons in almost all star system designations. These belts are rich in minerals and provide a great opportunity for resource gathering. To find specific mineral deposits, use the Starmap, which is an essential tool for navigating the vastness of space. It allows you to pinpoint the locations of asteroid belts and other celestial objects in each star system. Once you've identified an asteroid belt you wish to explore, you can fast-travel to your desired destination.

Mining Procedure

Mining in Starfield is a straightforward process, although it requires precision and careful planning. Follow these steps to efficiently mine asteroids:

Identify a suitable asteroid within the belt: When you enter an asteroid belt, take a moment to scan the area and identify asteroids that are larger in size. Remember, bigger asteroids generally contain more resources, making them more valuable targets for mining.
Initiate the mining process: Once you've selected a suitable asteroid, aim your ship's weapons at it and initiate the mining process. Starfield provides different weapon systems for mining, including the regular BAL, MSL, and LAS systems. These systems are designed to break down the asteroids and extract the valuable minerals within them.
Shoot the asteroid until it is destroyed: Continue shooting the asteroid with your ship's weapons until it is completely destroyed. As you shoot, you'll notice the asteroid breaking apart, indicating that you're making progress in extracting the resources. Be patient and keep shooting until the asteroid is completely destroyed.

 Collecting Mineral Deposits

Once the asteroid is destroyed, a Mineral Deposit will appear and be marked by an indicator. Mineral Deposits contain the valuable minerals that you've extracted from the asteroid. To collect these minerals, follow these steps:

Get close to the deposit: Maneuver your ship close to the Mineral Deposit, ensuring that you're within range to interact with it.

Examine its contents: Once you're close to the deposit, press the activate button (E) to examine its contents. This will provide you with a detailed breakdown of the minerals and resources within the deposit.

Collect the minerals: Depending on your mission objectives or trading purposes, collect the minerals that are needed. Use your ship's storage system to store the collected minerals and keep track of your inventory.

Types of Mineral Deposits in Starfield

Starfield offers a wide variety of mineral deposits in different locations. Here are some examples of mineral deposits and the associated locations where they can be found:

Eridani VIII-d (Moon of Eridani VIII)
"

  • Minerals: Iron, Nickel, Platinum
  • The moon of Eridani VIII, Eridani VIII-d, is a treasure trove of minerals. Here, you can find Iron, Nickel, and the highly sought-after Platinum. Platinum is a rare and valuable resource used in advanced technologies and luxury goods.

Expanding Your Resource Collection

While the listed locations offer significant resource deposits, it's important to remember that there may be additional resources waiting for you in other asteroid belts throughout Starfield. To expand your resource collection, consider exploring different star systems and their associated planets. Each location holds the potential for new mineral deposits and unique resources. By venturing into uncharted territories, you'll have the opportunity to discover rare and valuable minerals that can enhance your interstellar adventures.

Congratulations! You now have a solid understanding of how to successfully obtain resources from asteroids in Starfield. Remember to utilize your ship's weapons, target larger asteroids for better yields, and explore various locations to uncover new mineral deposits. Happy mining and may your journeys be filled with abundant riches! Always ensure the safety of yourself and others when engaging in any mining activities. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines provided by Starfield authorities to prevent accidents and protect the integrity of the environment.
