When you reach the cave, look for three dead bodies affixed with sticks. The body in the middle is wearing the Slingshot on its side. Interact with it by hitting E and the weapon will be added to your inventory. To use the Slingshot, equip it to your hands and it will be loaded with stones, ready to be fired at enemies.
