 Moving the Mods Folder



The first and most common cause of the ‘Script Call Failed’ error is that there might be a conflict with the Mods folder. The Mods folder contains all the customized content that players have installed in the game. Here are the steps to move the Mods folder:

  • Quick way to determine if mods are the cause: To determine whether the ‘Script Call Failed’ error is caused by a mod, you can try running the game without any mods. To do this, you need to move the Mods folder temporarily.
  •  Steps to move the Mods folder: The first step is to locate the Mods folder. The Mods folder can be found in the Documents folder. Once you have located the Mods folder, copy and paste it to another location, preferably your desktop.
  • Creating a backup of the Mods folder: It is always a good idea to have a backup of your Mods folder before making any changes. Simply copy and paste the Mods folder to another location on your computer.
  • Testing the game after moving the Mods folder: After moving the Mods folder, launch Sims 4 to see if the ‘Script Call Failed’ error persists. If the game runs without any issues, then the problem was caused by a conflicting mod.

  • Navigating to My Game Library: Once the EA App client is launched, click on My Game Library to view all the games that you have installed on your computer.
  • Verifying the game files: Locate Sims 4 in the game list and click on it. From the dropdown menu, click on Repair Game. The client will verify and repair any missing or corrupted game files.

 Resetting Sims 4


If the previous solutions didn't work, the final solution is to reset Sims 4. This should only be done as a last resort, as it will erase all your game progress and settings. Here are the steps to follow:

  • 1. Close the game.
  • 2. Navigate to the Sims 4 game folder in the Documents folder on your computer.
